The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 passed through ripples of time while observing turbulent waves of space displacement coming from an unnamed planet. Dr. McCoy accidentally injected himself with an overdose of cordrazine, then fled to the planet surface in a state of drug-induced paranoia.
Mr. Spock and I beamed down to the planet to find McCoy. We discovered an ancient artifact that called itself the Guardian of Forever, a portal to the past. McCoy leapt through the portal to 1930's Earth, where he disrupted the timeline by saving the life of a social worker named Edith Keeler. She delayed America's entry into World War II, allowing the Nazis to conquer Earth. Spock and I traveled into the past to correct history. My mission became all too complicated when I fell in love with Edith. To save humanity's future, I did my duty, but at great personal cost.
