Lursa is the eldest daughter of the politically influential House of Duras. Her younger sister, B'Etor, has been Lursa's conspirator for a number of insidious plots. A failed coup d'etat of the Gowron leadership did, however, serve as the flashpoint for the Klingon civil war. Once her ties with the Romulan Star Empire were discovered, the civil war ended and Lursa went into exile for nearly two years. She had been known to supply bilitrilum to the Bajoran terrorists known as the Kohn-ma. Most recently, reports from the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D indicate that Lursa and her sister are in collaboration with one Dr. Soran. Like her sister, Lursa is considered an enemy of the Federation of Planets.
