Vance Astro is an astronaut whowas placed in suspended animation and awakened centuries later. Vance was taken prisoner alongside the Centaurian Yondu by the alien invaders called the Badoon, but they escaped and formed the Guardians of the Galaxie with other freedom fighters. He eventually found the shield of his hero, the legendary Captain America, and proved himself worthy of the Avenger's legacy.
