Deathstroke "The Terminator" aka Slade Wilson, first appeared in The New Teen Titans vol. 1, Issue 2 (1980). He was introduced as a mercenary working to complete a contract that was initially undertaken by his son The Ravager aka Grant Wilson. While another of his sons Jericho aka Joseph Wilson would eventually join the Titans, Slade would instead become one of the main villains for the young team. In 1991 Wilson would go on to star in his first 61 issue series (as well as a 4 part annual special) titled "Deathstroke The Terminator". In this series readers would get a look into Deathstroke's past; learning about how he obtained his superhuman abilities through a botched military experiment, his relationship with his family as well as how he ultimately lost his eye leading to the creation of his iconic eye-patch and one-eyed masks. From series to series Deathstroke would blur the line between Hero and Villain ranging from risking his life to save kidnapped children to his various attempts in killing The Batman.
