I'd wanted a figure of a rookie Ghostbuster. Not a figure of The Rookie from the video game. Rather, something more like what if I was a Ghostbuster, in a fictionalized world. Ok, so while this figure doesn't look a thing like me, it's my take on a rookie Ghostbuster. I had to cut off part of the bottom of McCoy's neck, and drill out quite a bit of vinyl from the inside, even though the Mattel Ghostbusters figures and the Playmates Toys Star Trek figures' heads are rather similar in design. One hitch was the McCoy's head is actually molded in burgundy vinyl and was painted. When test fitting the head on, there were scrapes of paint that came off the neck, revealing burgundy plastic underneath, and looking like third degree burns on his neck. Thankfully, the final fit was better, and the molded jumpsuit collar hid the paint scrapes. I also swapped out Ray's hands from and earlier figure for Peter's gloved hands, allowing the figure to have bare hands as well as untucked pant legs, along with a removable proton pack. ![]() |
