Hello Realmers,

I take this figure more like a practicing and learning experience. Wanted to try more techniques, some went right others were quite difficult and frustrating. Many pictures or barbarians, giants and medieval fighters were used as reference. Although the most influential on the design where HATE CMON MINIATURES I found pictures off.

Recipe:
The Figure

-Base Figure: An 8 inch bootleg Hulk shown in the pictures. Everything but the chains and a few cloth pieces where sculpted with apoxie.
-Added different chains around the Waste. 3 different Kinds some where put together with Wire to mahe it look as a whole piece.
-There is Cloth around in the thighs, and Cloth around shoulder pad armor.
-Shoulder part Armor was made over large pieces of Tire like rubber that was hot glued over the shoulder so I don't loose arm articulation.
-Left hand Armor (RED) sculpted creating a square scale tool out of a plastic card.
-Right arm, above Knee and back of boots, chain mail was sculpted using a small ball stilus back and forth interlock.
-Feet Complete sculpted, many layers of clay.
-All spikes are apoxie made.
-Horns, after trying many styles, decided for Swirl like horns, made them with two snakes of clay twisted and wayted to dry.
-Many textures where done using the textures in the exacto and the rest of my scupting tools. Even made a texture tool withy a stick and the neck of a coaxial cable plug.
-Lost the feet, waist and middle thigh articulation when elongating this figure. Grew 1 inch in each part by inserted screws wires and aluminum foil before sculpting around the areas. This made the figure go to 11 inches.
-The boots actually was the worst and hardest part to make. Until I understood I had to work many layers until I basically had nondetailed mainly similar feet that let me started working the armor.

The Axe 13 INCH
-Large wooden stick. Covered in apoxie and sculpted to look like wood.
-Cardboard 2 sheets for the Blade.
-Cover With Apoxie on the Blade one side at a time. Mainly a 3 part Job.
-Leather strap was wrapped in the middle for the handle, and a small chain added to the top of it.

Painting.
I don't really use special paints on any of my customs, cause hard to find in my country and extremely expensive or high cost for the crappy ones. All acrylics very cheap Apple Barrel, Nicoles, etc. Although I do have a little bit better quality paints with an army paint set I bought, but mainly left this for my son to paint miniatures (which he started this year) I basically only use the 4 Washes and The Metallics on this set are far superior than cheap acrylics.

-Base body was primed with a water based primer that I airbrushed.
-First Layer of Flesh, Red and Metallics Where Airbrushed.
-Painted the Clay straps and cloths with brushes.
-Dry brushed most of the rest with different tones of red, orange, mainly.
-Don't know if it is appreciated in the pictures but mainly the axe and the chainmail do shift some of its color between Red and purple. I added metallic makeup pigments (I think these are from makeup or maybe from an art class, my daughter gave them to me because she didn't want them anymore... I did not take them from her....) to the cheap metallic paint and basically the last few layers where dry brushed an blended with this.
-Washes were added several times between dry brushing (I still don't have this down and this time I did not seal the paints between layers or washes. By the way The figure isn't sealed yet.)
-Try to paint glow out of his Eyes and the scull on his waist, using 3 layes of blue, not totally happy, the guys on the videos make it look more easy. But then again, is all a learning experience.

Hope you guys like it. I Really like this one. and I I said this guy and the TRAP JAW I am working on right now are all about sculpting practice and learning.

Amazing work. It's so good to see these kind of customs. The amount of work is huge and it came out great. Did you sand the feet? It's so weird when people simply sculpt around it, making it look like a clown's shoe, and don't realise that most Hulk figures have huge feet. You made it right. Everything is greatly well done.

Glad you appreciTe the work bructu. I actually kept the whole feet above the ancle for another project. I inserted to screws on its leg, wrapped wire and built an armature. Put some aluminum foil and started working with some clay to come up with a foot form. It I had kept the feet it might haVe been easier. But then they would have been lost. And as you say I wound have had to cut them so that it won't end up as clown combat feet....

Thanks a lot for your second post. Yes this big monsterI consider it one of my best works. There was a lot of work from beginning to end. Lost of cjtting, wires, aluminum paper to fill. But the best thing was that I tried ad practiced a lot of sculpting on it.

Thanks staley glad you like it. The material is actually a metallic mesh I got from a bracelet. I untanglend it and cut it with pliers. But I almost used mosquito window mesh for I looks very similar, but this metallic material was left without paint.
