So with the impending release of the Haslab Giant Man, I've given a lot of thought to what I wanted to do with mine. The obvious (and clearly intended) option is to display Hank alongside other classic Avengers. However, to me the figure is so much bigger than the typical ML that he makes everyone else look tiny. But while Hank himself isn't my favorite character, a lot of the other characters in his orbit (Janet Van Dyne, Scott Lang, Bill Foster, etc) are among my favorites. And him dwarfing most of them isn't an issue because, hey, they're SUPPOSED to be small.
Which brings us to Eric O'Grady. I thought his solo series was fun enough (he's a sleezeball, but that was sort of the point) but I don't love the decision to kill him off and replace him seemingly indefinitely with an evil LMD. And the Black Ant name is silly, even for comics. I had hoped for a while that they'd let him take over the Yellowjacket role, but alas, the MCU pretty firmly slotted Darren Cross into that slot. So "Black Ant" it is. However, while Hasbro DID make one... I did not care for it. If I must have Black Ant, I prefer the current version, which is closer to his OG Ant-Man look, but without all the crazy details.
Chose "Spider-Shot" as my base figure since it had the squinty Spidey eyes I wanted, green stuff and a rubber band for most of the extras. I used some support wire for the Antenna, painted over with Angelus paint.

Please wait...
TBH, that probably would have been a better base, since I did have to fill in the slot they used for his pouches, but I still like how he turned out.
