Made this guy to surprise my son at some point as he's been talking about the Red Hulk. Base figure is from a Hulk 2003 movie figure I found in a grab bag of figures for $6 from Goodwill, can't beat that! He's got some small weird "action" thing on his back I can't figure out, but the base sculpt is excellent and more in line with the early wave ML stuff plus it was in great shape.

Now I'm going to go off the deep end and throw some of you off; I actually used the DecoArt Americana series acrylics found at Michael's for most of the body and head on this figure! Those actually work pretty well on ML-type figures. You can get good results *IF* you know how to paint and also enjoy the process of painting (read: aren't in a rush to complete a figure!). You can save your more expensive Citadel and Testors stuff for work that needs to go the extra mile or trouble spots on a figure.

Even with good paints in the joints, I still had some challenges with this one that I finally solved by dremeling and sanding, then using multiple applications of Citadel black undercoat and Krazy glue. Most of the time though was spent was on drybrushing and trying to establish the colour textures I wanted to give him that "leap off the page" effect such as the grayish-reddish highlights in the pants. Finally, I gave him a more military hairstyle (also colour matched the pants) more fitting of his alter ego General "Thunderbolt" Ross!
