Batman Batman Incorporated (DC Direct) - Basic Series Rated 5.00 stars by BobTheEgg This figure might be my all time favorite DC Direct Batman. The detail that they put into the paint and sculpt is just incredible. You find new, admirable details in this Batman every time you look at it, and the articulation is the best I have ever seen in DC Direct. It's just a great Batman. The Batman Incorporated suit is one of my favorites too. It looks so armored and there are so many different ways to pose him. So if you see Batman Inc. Batman anywhere I highly suggest you buy him. He will be a great addition to any DC Collection or a great start to a new one....[See More]
Ninja Spawn Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 3 Rated 5.00 stars by BobTheEgg I bought Ninja Spawn loose and complete. I did not recognize that he was a Spawn figure because of the incredible articulation. Not many Spawn figures have that. Anyway, the figure came in a plastic bag with the mask on, so I had no idea that the burned face came underneath. However, just at first glance I could see that this guy came loaded with accessories.
The nice thing about Spawn figures is that what they lack in articulation they make up for with great accessories and paint. This figure had great paint, as most figures do, but also had ball jointed shoulders, swivel wrists, and a swivel chest. His legs could move up and down and the figure really didn't need knee articulation because his legs were already posed in a nice position. Then the accessories. Man, this guy came with so...[See More]
Doesn't sound bad at all. I might make a new hood in red, maybe with a short cape.
Joker (Missile Launcher) Dark Knight - Movie Masters (Mattel) - Exclusives Rated 4.00 stars by BobTheEgg The Dark Knight was a true legend of a movie, no question about it. Simply fantastic. So of course we would expect the same from the action figures and we got that too. This looks exactly like Heath Ledger's Joker. The interrogation scene can be reenacted. The paint is fantastic, the sculpt is fantastic, and the articulation is fantastic, but there's one thing wrong. On the back of the packaging, it shows a photo of the Joker figure with arm articulation that he doesn't actually have, which is very strange because the leg articulation is exceptional. The missile launcher is great, and it really is fitting to the Joker even though I don't remember him using a bazooka while wearing this uniform. All in all, a great figure, worth your money, but just a heads up on the arm articulation....[See More]
Dude I don't really agree with you here. You can't re-enact the jail cell scene. I have a chair in his scale, if the leg articulation was so good he could sit in the chair, which is not possible. Try it, his legs don't bend up enough to kick above his knee without breaking or cracking the crotch piece, thus making it impossible for him to sit down. Don't get me wrong, I like this figure for the most part for a few reasons. Sculpt is a big upgrade, he does look much better that his first incarnation. Paints are much better here too, the clothing detail is amazing like the patterning on the shirt. However articulation is not one of them. He doesn't even have the range the thugs, the scarecrow, and the dent figures have.
Although I don't agree with how high you rated this figure, I do agree with you as to how good the movie was!
Actually, you're right. Most of these figures are pretty hard to sit down. Thanks for noticing that. Sometimes I may humor a figure by rating it a little high...
Sandman Justice Society of America (DC Direct) - Alex Ross - Series 1 Rated 5.00 stars by BobTheEgg This is an incredibly detailed DC Direct action figure, possibly one of my favorites that the company has ever produced. The detail and paint is simply fantastic, and for a DC Direct figure I must say it has VERY good articulation. The display base works quite well and the interchangeable hands are easy to switch out, as well as being surprisingly secure while inserted. A fantastic figure that I recommend highly....[See More]
Spawn (Regular Head) Spawn - Movie (McFarlane) - Basic Series Rated 5.00 stars by BobTheEgg For those of us who cannot find the Image 10th Anniversary figure or simply do not like dealing with a gigantic plastic cape, this figure is probably the best and most articulated Spawn you're going to get. At first when I got him I was worried his gigantic awesome gun might not fit in his hand, but I was wrong. The gun is specially designed so that he can hold it and still also have the awesome hand sculpt like he's reaching out to grab some murderer or something. And the bandoliers with the ammo on them really add a lot to the figure. I mean, it's just all around a great Spawn, and I'm guessing you could even make some customs using the great sculpt. The only problem with all the figures in the movie Spawn line is that not a single Spawn has a cape. The thing is, this excited me because...[See More]
Nice review. I don't have this figure because I could never find it so instead I have the attack spawn, its pretty much the same figure except he has spikes on his body. Its really cool!
Storm Shadow (Desert Battle) G.I. Joe - Pursuit of Cobra (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 5.00 stars by BobTheEgg This figure is so well designed and so detailed that it just figures I had to order it online. Never have found it in a store since then.
He comes with 4 swords and they can connect to be double bladed--how awesome is THAT? And plus, the whole thing is a new look for Storm Shadow with the turban and Manrikigusari chain weapon and all that. One of the thing I admire is the way they did the throwing stars. They go on his legs and never fall off unless you take them off. Plus, he's got this big sheath on his back for all the swords, and a little slot in the back for the shorter blades. He always needs a weapon in his hands, so it's fitting that everything can be stored except the tiger claws, so he can be ready to fight Snake Eyes at anytime in case there is an ambush or something. Also,...[See More]
Batman All Star (DC Direct) - Basic Series Rated 5.00 stars by BobTheEgg This figure is really mind-blowing. If you like Batman, DC, or Jim Lee, or just really awesome collector action figures, get this figure. Yes, yes, I know it doesn't have the good arm articulation and the wrists don't turn and the cape is too--and so forth. But you know, this really is more of a collector figure. You're not gonna be posing this guy everywhere and making videos and messing around with him. This figure has awesome detail and paint, his sculpt is just... one of the best Batman sculpts ever, and again, IT'S BATMAN. The display base works great, and I must say the cape is so fantastic. It's just so unique, and you know--if you want a highly articulated one that you can mess around with, get the DCUC one or the Mattel one or something. But if you like to sometimes take a break...[See More]
Beach-Head (City Strike) G.I. Joe - Pursuit of Cobra (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 4.90 stars by BobTheEgg Beachhead is a pretty great GI Joe. He's got this gigantic, greatly detailed and painting vest that lets him move around very nicely, as well as an absolute TON of weapons. The paint is very nice. I really like, it, and even though he has too many weapons to carry all at once it makes up for the lack of accessories some of my other figures have. Awesome....[See More]
Starscream Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Voyager Class Rated 4.50 stars by BobTheEgg This is an awesome Starscream. The articulation, as usual with Transformers, is fantastic, and the transforming mechanism works perfectly. The paint is really incredible, and there is so much detail put into everything. It really is an incredible action figure in general. The only problem I have is that the arm articulation is very strange. His elbows bend backwards but not frontwards, which is very strange. Still, overall this is a great figure, and if you get the chance I highly suggest you buy him....[See More]
Daredevil (Red) Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Nemesis Series Rated 4.80 stars by BobTheEgg This action figure is AWESOME. He has 30 points of articulation, and while this may not look that impressive compared to other Legends figures, his hand is molded to hold his nunchucks perfectly. His left hand can't hold them but it doens't matter that much to me. Plus, he can store them in that pouch on his left leg.
Daredevil he really looks like the Man Without Fear. His eyes look empty and blank, but they also have small wrinkles and rings around them that add so much detail. you can tell that his mask definitely covers his eyes.
The paint job is absolutely phenomenal! They even put the silver on the pouch straps for the buckle. and his nunchucks--these are really a great accessory. They're very simple--no paint, just a white mold with string. Simple, but effective. And using his...[See More]
