Soundwave Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class Rated 1.00 stars by Shinobitron First of all I'm pretty easy going when it come to the various TF lines. Though I do prefer the toony animated feel of TFA figures and classics some of the movie design are in fact pretty cool. There were some gems in the first Movie wave of figures and I was hoping that Soundwave was going to be the begining of something good for the sequel. . . . I WAS WRONG!
Soundwave was the biggest waste of $13.00 (plus tax) that I have ever partook in. The figure is clunky short and is onlt good in botmode (and thats a far stretch). I am going to go thru the review in modes for this piece of $13.00 (plus tax) crud.
Botmode-
OK in the package he looks good and if you seen the back of the package he looks very detailed and a larger 6" scale figure. In actuality he has little detailing a poopy grey...[See More]
I might get a few of teh G1 characters if they''re close to G1 types like jazz was but Soundwave was the only one I really liked the robot form of. I hope walmart has him so i can at least look at him in th emorning.
Alucard Castlevania (Neca) - Basic Series Rated 5.00 stars by Shinobitron First off let me say being a Castlevania nut since the 80's makes doing this review tough since I'm already bias. Us Castlevania fans haven't seen figure made this awesome series of games ever. I just want to take this opportunity to personally thank NECA for snagging this contract and "NOT" screwing it up!
(I feel better now)
Sculpting:
I'll start with Alucards sculpt which is 100% accurate to he resemblance in Symphony of the Night. The 4 Horsemen did a fantastic job of capturing the old world feel of this figure everything about him is just like the instruction manual set forth by Konami when the game released. The boots the jacket the cape. Everything about it is perfect. Mine came however with the top part of his hair popped off. I blame this however on the packaging not the...[See More]
Sadly I didn''t see these figures in stores either so I''ll have to go the internet route. I would have preferred it if all of the characters had the same level of articulation as this figure.
Spider-Man (Black Costume / Super Articulated) Spider-Man 3 - Movie (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 4.00 stars by Shinobitron Today I just picked up the new Spider-Man 3 figures. First on the block is the super-articulated symbiote Spider-Man. First off, the packaging is roughly supposed to look like webbing and with white to varying shades of blue to black on the backing to get a field of depth to apparently capture the buyer’s interest, but it looks pretty good. However, enough about the package, let’s get to the figure.
Spider-Man comes with about 26 points of articulation compared to Toybiz’s 36-44 points on average for a Spider-Man. His head is on a large ball joint and can be popped off easily if desired. The shoulder joints move just like a legends joint and turn at the bicep. He has two joints for his elbows and his wrists have a hinge type joint. His torso moves and has no waist articulation. He...[See More]
I got the Lizard and besides the scale it was awesome. The sculpt on the ones I saw were good but the articulation on most was subpar. Too bad
Astrotrain Transformers - Classics (Hasbro) - Deluxe Rated 4.00 stars by Shinobitron Astrotrain is another classic Transformers that has not had a modern incarnation until now. The original Astrotrain changed from Locomotive to Space shuttle to robot. The modern version contains all three modes only with a modern upgrade.
Vehicle Mode:
Astrotrain is a triple changer thus featuring 3 modes of conversion. His space shuttle mode is based off of today?s modern shuttles. The shuttle has working landing gear and a storage peg underneath for the rifle. The train mode has upgraded from classic locomotive to a modern day bullet train. The train has a peg for inserting the gun and has working train wheels for the realistic look. The back end of the train is kinda bulky but is understandable since this figure needs to have pieces for all modes of conversion.
Robot...[See More]
Some Transformers look cool but the color-schemes are too bland Some mechanical stickers or some sculpted machine-parts (like the BAF Sentinels have) would be fun to see.
I''ve been thinking about getting this guy but I think I am going to get Rodimus and Starscream first. Then maybe Bumble be bee Cuz I like the trailer concept.
Bumblebee Transformers - Classics (Hasbro) - Deluxe Rated 5.00 stars by Shinobitron This will probably be the first of Transformers Classics figures I plan on reviewing. A neat feature all classic figure have is the heat rub symbols have returned. These figures are a great homage to the original characters that made the series what it is to day, a classic.
Bumblebee was the first of the Classics that I picked up, and is my favorite thus far. Bumblebee started his life in 1984 as VW bug. In 1986 he was remade into a throttlebot (pull back and go action Transformer) with a new name (Goldbug) and a gold paintjob. Fans didn't take to this well and was remade again in 88 as a Pretender. Since then Volkswagon no longer gave the rights to the Bug to TAKARA / Hasbro and BB has had no figures made since then. . . until now.
Auto Mode:
Bumbleee is no longer his...[See More]
You sure hes a cooper? Looks more like a tuner Honda Civic or a little Toyota? Still I think it''s a neat little bot I plan to add to my Transfomers collection.
Sunstreaker Transformers - Alternators (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 4.00 stars by Shinobitron Being a large Transformers fan It came with great joy and pride when I heard that Hasbro decided to release Sunstreaker as an Alternator, unfortunately he was released 2 years to late. Sunstreaker was to be part of the original run of Alternators released, but due to no Decepticons being in line as of yet Sunstreaker was painted black and red and given the name Dead End.
Automode:
This is the 3rd Dodge Viper to be released in the series. Sunstreaker is an exact copy of Dead End but with a yellow paint scheme. Sideswipe, the first Viper released (and Sunstreakers brother), is a convertible, while Sunstreaker is the hardtop with added spoiler and race themed detailing. The car itself is beautiful and has excellent auto detailing. Hasbro went as far as to detail the breaks and adding...[See More]
