Acklay Star Wars - Saga (Hasbro) - Arena Battle Beast Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X The Acklay was a large spider creature that was used on Geonosis for execution purposes. When the Jedi strike force arrived on Geonosis to save Obi-Wan and gang the Acklay was one of the two creatures left alive. It proceeded to run amuck the arean smashing droids and anything else that got in its way. It soon met its match when Obi-Wan killed it with his lightsaber.
This guy is big, really big. He EASILY dwarfs every other SW figure, at least the actual human/alien figures. He comes with two points of interest, his Damage wound and chomping mouth. Ill start first with his chomping mouth. Yoyu simply grab the top of his head frill and pull back. The head, which is on a spring opens the mouth. When releases the mouth snap shut. The next feature is his Damage wound. On the his lower gut,...[See More]
It does, he would fit in well. The funny thing is he dwarfs the McFarlene 6'''' Alien figures
Barc Speeder (with Barc Trooper) Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith (Hasbro) - Vehicles Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X Like the rest of the Ep3 Clone Troopers, the Barc Speeder (with Barc Trooper) definitely hit’s the top of the figure chart. As a precursor to the Scout troopers you know it has to be awesome and it doesn’t disappoint at all.
The clone comes at a small height, about 3 inches tall. This is due to his sculpt which has him sitting so tightly he’s almost in a ball. He comes with no weapons and can't stand on his own due to his leg sculpt, not that it matters he looks better on the bike. The bike itself is about nine inches long, much bigger then the figure. You get the idea that the early speeders were big, at least compared to their rider. The Speeder only comes with one feature, one of those pull belts. You insert the belt right above the back wheel, push it and then pull hard and fast....[See More]
Space Walker Suit and Cale Titan A.E. (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X Another Titan A.E custom is what we have here. Ive looked at the rest of the series’ figures I think that most are pretty childish and cartoony except for a few. This is one of those few, Space Walker Suit and Cale. I got mine loose from a friend and it was missing allot of its parts, all I got was the figure and the walker, no walker glass, gun or shot so ill be reviewing the pieces I have and you’ll have to go from the picture, id rather not give and inaccurate review.
Cale comes at 3.75 inches, again allot like the SW figures of the time. He posed in a standing pose with two outstretched arms, probably how someone would look getting ready to drive a walker.
His paintjob is pretty snazzy. His costume consists first of a grey bodysuit. Over that he wears pieces of armor, some pieces...[See More]
Luke's T-16 Skyhopper Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Vehicles Rated 4.00 stars by Mr-X The T-16 Skyhopper (Luke Skywalker's) figure is one of those figures that defines irrelevancy in my opinion. It was mentioned in one sentence, might have been part of the background for a few seconds and we STILL got a figure that wasn’t the greatest. Now lets move on to the rest of my annoyance.
I believe they really screwed this one up in more ways then one. Two of the three features are pretty much useless. Ill report them anyhow, starting with the most useful. The first is the wings, something they did right. These buggers actually fold in a variety of ways. They can either be at 90, 45 or just about and other degree you can think of up to about 180. Folding wings are nice, makes easy storage. Here’s where we run bad, the cockpit. The cockpit is one of those pull out deals. It plugs...[See More]
Snowtrooper (E-Web Heavy Repeating Blaster) Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Deluxe Figures Rated 4.80 stars by Mr-X Sometimes fans actually do get some figures that were only seen for a quick second. These figures usually vary, sometimes they are good and sometimes they suck horribly. Well the particular figure here, Snowtrooper (Tripod Cannon) , actually came out well. This snow trooper was the operator of the tripod cannon during the attack on Echo Base.
Our trooper comes at 3.75 inches tall. His sculpt is more meant for working the cannon then anything else since he is in a crouched stance with his arms close to his sides. If he is away from the cannon he wont stand up, I've tried. If someone can get him to stand up without the cannon then they are better at this then I. Anyhow, he’s just your normal trooper, he comes exactly like the other Snowtrooper except with no weapons, just a pack to attach....[See More]
Luke Skywalker (Desert Sport Skiff) Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Deluxe Figures Rated 4.50 stars by Mr-X In every series one will find that a company will make a few figures that serve no point whatsoever. These figures may or may not be short packed but always turn up somewhere, sometimes even for allot of money. For fans they are treasures, collectors want them but for everyone else they are usually junk. Such is the case with the Luke Skywalker (Desert Sport Skiff) combo pack. It was never shown in anything as far as I know and the figure is ugly.
I might as well due all both review at once, the Luke figure wont take as long so ill start with him. This Luke comes at 3.75 inches tall and is a repackage of an earlier Luke. This things also ugly, very ugly. Luke looks like He-Man so much its just annoying. Luke is a twiggy farm boy not a bodybuilder!!! He may be in his farm boy clothes but...[See More]
Geonosian Warrior Star Wars - Saga (Hasbro) - Attack of the Clones Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X The Geonosians were a race of bug like creatures that inhabited the desert world of Geonosis. As the Clone Wars broke out, they allied themselves with Count Dooku and his group. Their planet became the site for a massI've droid plant and was the first conflict of the Clone Wars.
The Geonosian figures will always be rather interesting. Most Star Wars aliens are semi human like, these are not. They look like green twigs in my opinion. Anyhow the Geonosian comes with two items, a spear and an electric spiral. The electric spiral actually does have a purpose. It fits around the spear giving it an electric look, which is good since in the movie the spears did have electric tips. I think the spirals were a bit over done and were made a bit to long, they take up almost the entire spear....[See More]
Arc Runner and Cale Titan A.E. (Hasbro) - Basic Series Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X Cale, the main character of the movie Titan A.E was mans only hope. Years after Earth was destroyed, Cale held mans last hope in the form of a ring. This ring held the coordinates of a ship, a ship capable of creating a planet for humans to live on. The Drej, a race of pure energy that destroyed Earth, also know that Cale has this map and they persistently search for him in an attempt to stop the making of a new plant.
Well, I've seen the Titan A.E movie and its not to bad. Granted its meant towards kids, its got action and some violence. Anyhow, ill move onto the review of this figure. This combo pack features Cale in his atmosphere suit, a welding gun and an Arc Runner. The Arc Runner is basically just a bike, much like a SW Speeder Bike. The Bike comes with a rocket that fires out of...[See More]
Speeder Bike (with Luke in Endor Gear) Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Vehicles Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X Like the Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike, Luke with Speeder Bike was something I sought to. The only difference this time was I got him when he first came out and without a hassle!!!
Luke comes at the usual 3.75 inches tall, the standard SW height. Unlike the Scout Trooper, he actually comes with a few weapons. He comes with both a blaster pistol, his green lightsaber and removable poncho that’s made out of rubber. Since I've already gone over the Speeder bikes action, I wont repeat myself on the process, it’s the EXACT same as the other one.
With that said, ill move onto coloring. Luke comes wearing his poncho and his Jedi+Endor gear. His Jedi robes are solid black and his poncho is a light tan color. His Endor helmet is a mix of black and tan. His lightsaber blade is a see through...[See More]
Captain Typho (Padme's Head of Security) Star Wars - Saga (Hasbro) - Attack of the Clones Rated 4.80 stars by Mr-X Captain Typho was the head of security for Padme's guard. He accompanied her to Coruscant and protected her throughout the Clone Wars.
CT comes at the usually SW size of 3.75 inches as most of them do. He comes with a blast, a blaster burst and a removable helmet. The helmet is the pilot helmet he’s wearing at the beginning of the movie and he comes dressed in those clothes. The blaster is a small hand blaster and it can attach to a small hole on his belt so he doesn’t have to carry it at all times. The blaster burst is a small translucent piece that attaches to the end of his blaster. He also wears an electronic eye patch over his right eye, doesn't do a thing but I think it looks cool lol.
Now unto the colors of DOOM!!! His vest is the same grey/blue vest from the movie. He wears red...[See More]
