Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog (Jazwares) - 3" Scale Rated 5.00 stars by CplHicks Back in the early 90’s there were two big video game companies battling it out for the number one spot. This was the console wars and at its head was Mario vs. Sonic. Now as a kid I loved both Mario and Sonic but Mario never got a decent action figure. Thanks to the good folks at Jazwares they have made a highly detailed and articulated figures based off Sonic. Sonic stands about 3 inches high.

Well there isn’t much paint on Sonic as he’s mostly blue. His shoes paint details look good and are cleanly applied. Sonics eyes look great and really have a realistic look. Over all the paint looks great!

Man Sonic never looked better! The sculpt is perfect! This is the perfect 3d rendition of everybody’s favorite blue hedgehog. Everything looks great. Jazwares really hit a...[See More]
Vigilante DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 8 Rated 5.00 stars by CplHicks I must say I am very impressed with Mattel DCUC classics line. It looks so good. I’ve never been hardcore into comics so I don’t really know a lot about a lot of the character selection for this line. Wave 8 was the Giganta wave. I really wanted to build her so I set out to buying the figures I needed. I picked Vigilante thinking I just wanted the baf piece he came with. I knew very little of him. I looked up his bio online and I learned he was DC’s answer to Marvel’s Punisher. He seemed pretty cool so I started to pick up the modern comics (sadly I only picked up 4 until the series was cancelled) The figure really started to grow on me. Now I display it proudly on my shelf. This mass murder stands about 6 inches tall.

There is some really good paint work here. The lines on...[See More]

Cylon Centurion Battlestar Galactica (Diamond Select) - Series 2 Rated 5.00 stars by CplHicks I’ve always been into Science Fiction. I missed watching Battlestar Galactica when it was on T.V. I’ve always wanted to see it. I walked into my local Wal-Mart and they had a sale on the first season so I bought it. I was hooked immediately. The show was awesome!!! But the thing that really drew me to it was those tall sleek dangerous looking Centurions. I love endo skeletons from Terminator so this was a perfect match. This mechanical grunt is 7.5 inches tall.

There isn’t a lot of paint on this figure. It’s mostly just silver and black. The paint is smooth even and well applied with sharp lines between the black and the silver. The eye has a bit of red that is painted in a way to make it look like it is moving back and forth. It really is a clever and cool little paint app....[See More]
Bruce My Name is Bruce (Dark Horse Comics) - Basic Series Rated 3.50 stars by CplHicks I am a huge Bruce Campbell fan!!!! I love the stuff he’s in. The poor guy has been working since he was a kid and never really got a break. Forever doomed to be in B grade movies yet he has still built up a huge fan base of loyal fans. Bruce Campbell is the most popular guy that nobodies heard of. Bruce has had some of the best one liners in movie history. One of his more recent movies got a toy made of him. My Name is Bruce features Bruce Campbell as…Bruce Campbell! So here you have he first Bruce Campbell figure as himself! Bruce here stands at 12 inches tall.

Not much paint here because his clothing is cloth not sculpted. The flesh tone is fairly realistic and doesn’t have any slop. The eyes are poorly done and made out to be little beady black dots. Part of the problems...[See More]
T-800 {Pescadero Escape} Terminator 2 (Neca) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by CplHicks I have always been a fan of the Terminator franchise. I love watching Arnold getting shot with little to no effect. Arnold really made the movie. His huge muscular from really made him an imposing bad (and good) guy. He kicked no shortage of butt in the movies. Whither he’s shooting police in the legs or wrestling with the T-100 he does it with style. T2 really upped the ante in action and special effects. Arnold makes the transformation from villain to hero. I love that movie and I have waited a long time for a decent line of toys to go with it. Fortunately NECA heard me and made the T2 line. The T-800 stands about 7 inches tall.

The paint job on this figure is great! The skin tone looks great is has no slop. The clothing is black with a dry brush of light grey to bring out...[See More]
I agree all their t2 stuff is nice but they got cheap on accessories, they''re getting that way with all their figures.
Lobo DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Exclusives Rated 5.00 stars by CplHicks Listen up ya bastich’s!!!! Dis ere’ is the review ya been watin’ for! That’s right da Main Man himself got a action figure made of him. Just don’t call it a doll or I’ll frag ya inta the next universe!!!! You see da main Man is so awesome they couldn’t release him in stores because he all dem geeks would buy him instead of all them other big cheese’s. So I beat th’ the tar out of dem Matel executives to make me into plastic. So dem Mattel geekwads released this figure back in 2008 as a SDCC exclusive. This action figure is big bad just like me and stands about 8 inches which is just the size of th’ main man’s…

Great pain on Lobo. The colours are bright and well applied. The details are nicely applied and look great. I enjoy the dark blood splotches on his boots. It looks like...[See More]
Winston Zeddemore (with Trap) Ghostbusters (Mattel) - 6" Scale Rated 3.50 stars by CplHicks First up for review is Winston who gets to be lucky number 1. Winston is made by Mattel was only available on Mattycollector. He’s priced at $20.00 U.S but you will have had to factor shipping into the mix. I paid about $31.00 with shipping in Canadian dollars.
Sculpt. 8/10
Winston has an excellent likeness of Ernie Hudson. Many believe him to have the best likeness of the Ghostbusters Classics figure released so far. The rest of his body reused from the other busters but is really well sculpted from the details on his belt to the awesome proton pack. The pack is really well sculpted and is very detailed. Over all the sculpting is very good.
Paint 6/10
My other two busters have excellent paint. Winston is a bit lacking in this department. The other two busters I had a very nice and...[See More]
I''ve been meaning to post for a month or two, but I keep forgetting... The trap-pedal connector hose comes out of the back of the trap... I thought I had broken it off when I first (accidentily) found out! haha ... FYI...
Sarah Connor Movie Maniacs (McFarlane) - Series 5 Rated 3.00 stars by CplHicks I freakin love the terminator franchise! I grew up with the 2 Terminator movies. The action was awesome and the story was good. It took special effects to new heights. Awesome movie. When I herd that MacFarlane’s Movie Maniac line was making a host of toys from T2 I nearly peed my pants in excitement. For this review we will focus on Movie Maniac series 5 Sarah Connor.
The mother of the future resistance leader comes with a boat load of stuff. 2 interchangeable right arms. 2 interchangeable left hands. She comes with sunglasses, a handgun, an M-16 and a knife. Now there are 3 versions of Sarah. There is one with her trademarked black hat, one with no hat but hair in a ponytail and the final one with her hair down. This review will focus on the third variant.

Joker Dark Knight - Movie Masters (Mattel) - Series 1 Rated 3.00 stars by CplHicks Why so serious? Let’s put a smile on that that face!!! I loved the Dark Knight. When I herd that Mattel would be producing 6 inch collector geared action figures I was stoked. I bought my first MM toy on a cross border shopping trip into New York State. I walked into the first Wal-Mart and found my first MM toy: a Joker figure. I was excited as back in the early days of MM Jokers were rare and highly sought after and went for crazy prices on a website.
Joker comes with very little. Just an extremely small knife and an evidence bag with a joker card. Not a whole lot of stuff.
Paint 2.5
The paint is well applied on my Joker and is even and smooth. The real issue with paint on this figure is accuracy. The face is completely solid while with little to no bleeding or skin showing through....[See More]
Scourge Transformers - Robots in Disguise (2001) (Hasbro) - Exclusives Rated 5.00 stars by CplHicks Ahhh Robots in Disguise. After a long history of animal’s transformers we get back to the roots of what made transformers great…Vehicles!!! Yeah I guess it was kinda cool to see Prime as a gorilla but in my heart I always missed him as a semi truck. Finally RID gives us back our cars, trucks and other metal vehicle forms. I was pumped for this show!!
My favorite character quickly became Scourge. This black and teal semi truck bada$$ was the coolest thing about the show. Megatron the leader of the predacons seemed weak and inferior to this 20 ton 800 horse power metal powerhouse.
Scourge was a Toys R Us excusive. He uses the same mould as the Generation 2 Laser optimus prime. Unlike the Prime which featured lights and sounds Scourge does NOT feature any working electronics. The battery...[See More]
