Jigsaw Killer & Saw Puppet
Cult Classics (Neca) - Series 5
Rated 4.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
Alright, I'm at 51 reviews, but I'm going back to basics. So here we go, NECA Jigsaw Killer. as a side note I know most people are getting sick of saw movies but I love the entire series! I think they are great! Sculpt: NECA perfectly captures the likeness of Tobin Bell with this amazing sculpt, it's spot on in everything from details to scale. When it comes to the puppet, his suit is a bit too thin, but hey, it's not like we're getting anything better right? Whatever, I can deal. Paint: Outright fantastic, no stray marks, great technique, it's like they took a 3D picture, it's just so realistic. Articulation: See, this is where I get a bit skeptical, his elbow joints are swivels instead of the normal double hitch. This severely limits posability, leaving him with only a few decent...[See More]
Voldo
Soul Calibur II (McFarlane) - Basic Series
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Oh no, it's Voldo, the crazy S&M guy of Soul Calibur!!! Basically, this is another Todd MacFarlane Soul Calibur statuette, and let me say I am quite impressed. Quite. It seems Mr. MacFarlane has taken several creative liberties and changed up Voldo's costume quite a bit, surprisingly for the better. A few examples are doing away with the creepy head gear, adding a shoulder cloth, and giving him a removable ornament of a giant claw that can be placed on his back. I'm no fan of Voldo, and I only got him, because like all other good figures you never thought you'd want, he came in a lot of figures. Basically, his articulation is as limited as any of the other Soul Calibur figures (if you can call them figures). With a sculpt made by God, and painted by those who never colored outside of the...[See More]
Spider-Man (Spider Armor)
Marvel Universe (Toy Biz) - 5" Scale - Series 3
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
So this Spider-man is absed off of his web armor costume. This exact same action figure was released earlier in the animated series line, but was repainted gold for this one, I don't quite see what this accomplishes, but what the heck, variants are always cool. This figure comes with the standard 8 points of articulation, which I shouldn't have to explain at this point because if you're reading this you should know what they are, even though this figure only has seven, yes only seven, I'm getting to that in a second. This figure would be a lot better if it wasn't for the crappy action feature, yes, the dreaded action figure, ruining your toys' articulation since the beginning of time. This Spider-man shoots a dinky little web shield, which makes no sense, I mean, why would you shoot a...[See More]
Necrid
Soul Calibur II (McFarlane) - Basic Series
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Necrid is a cool character, designed by Todd MacFarlane, with a cool move set from other characters. For some reason critics didn't like him, but critics never like anything. One thing that immediately makes this figure great is that he is in his alternate costume, orange with a gas mask, as opposed to the unappealing green ogre. He's really just a statuette, but he has more articulation than other figures in that style (I'm looking at you Watchmen figures). With these figures it's all about the quality of the sculpt, and in this case, it's amazing. I'm usually for the figures with basic colors instead of out of control detail and shading, but I love this statuette figure thing, whatever you want to call it. Basically, it's hard to not enjoy this thing, because looking at it is just too...[See More]

I was a big fan of the way Necrid looked but always thought his moves kinda let him down, I would have this figure though because as I said I love the way he looks
Mr. Freeze
Batman - New Animated (Mattel) - Basic Series
Rated 3.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
Mr. Freeze isn't one of my favorite characters, in fact, in most Batman franchises, I could live without him, especially in Batman and Robin, where I wish I could jump into the movie and kick Schwarzennager's "ice", seriously, he needs to "chill" with the ice puns, however, when I was watching "The Batman" and saw Mr. Freeze's new look, I thought to myself "best villain in the show, now where's his action figure?" Needless to say I bought him, and he's cool and all, but the figure itself has a few minor bugs. The articulation is sadly the standard for toys based on animated series, in that it's only in the shoulders, waist, and thighs, and since his head is bound in cool rubber translucent ice, he can't move that. He's pretty front heavy, so he tends to fall a lot, and since his legs...[See More]
Sideswipe
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
I'm not really into Transformers all that much, but that doesn't mean I don't like them. I was on a quick Transformers kick during which I picked up Sideswipe at my local Wal-mart, and he is pretty impressive. Like most Transformer figures, I had trouble transforming him at first, but after a few successes I was able to do it with relative ease. His feet are kind of weird because instead of having feet, he has wheels. I suppose you think this makes it pretty hard to stand him up, and you are correct sir and/or madam. However, once you get him to stand, it gets pretty easy to pull off some dynamic poses. Appearance wise Sideswipe looks pretty freaking cool. His vehicle mode is a Corvette with some good looking blue tinted windows, and a flat plastic silver which could have looked a...[See More]

There is a mod you can do to his feet to make him stand but it isn''t movie accurate. I wish they''d had made him G1 red but instead they repainted him red with a new name and head later in the line. I mostly bought him as i love this corvette design.
New Goblin
Spider-Man 3 - Movie (Hasbro) - Ooze Attack
Rated 3.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Well, as everyone knows Spider-man 3 is the greatest piece of mediocre garbage that the Superhero genre ever put out. However, there were some good things, like New Goblin. I enjoyed the concept of making him an anti-hero, and he looks a lot cooler than he did as the American Son. Basically, this is one of the 5 inch figures, and after I saw the 6 inch one, I didn't feel like buying another one, so I just stuck with this one. This figure comes with a lot of accessories, including a monster sandman for him to fight, but I've lost all of them, so all that's left is the base figure. The figure benefits from the accessories, and without them there's not a lot of ways he can be posed, plus, I'm not sure if this is just my figure's wear equaling up to almost 3 years, but his joints are kind of...[See More]
Azrael
Batman - Knight Force Ninjas (Kenner) - Basic Series
Rated 2.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I'm not sure whether to be surprised or disappointed. Basically, this is the only other honest to goodness Azrael figure in existence besides the DC Universe Classics one. I bought this one before the DCUC one and I am not impressed. He has an "action feature" where he just swings his hand up and down. It's pretty lame, but then again, all action features are. He comes with a few accessories, an extended gauntlet, and a flaming sword, which would be cool if I knew why he had it. I never read the Azrael comics, so yeah, not sure if he had a flaming sword or not. But whatever, basically the figure isn't that good, you can't make use of most of his articulation effectively, no matter how little there is, because of the action feature. He has a removable cape, but...[See More]
Clone Trooper
Star Wars - Saga Collection (Hasbro) - Episode III Heroes & Villains
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Ah Clone Troopers, their name alone details what a great army building figure they are, and they're just cool enough to make me want to keep buying them. Basically, the Clone Trooper looks similar to the old ones, because I mean, how original can you get when it comes to the sculpt of a figure like this? BUT, it's vastly improved in terms of points of articulation. Like most Star Wars figures, the legs are nothing special, but the arms are great, and have the same articulation on the X-Men origins Wolverine figures, and I must painfully admit, that I have to give credit where credit is due. Hasbro got this one right. The figure comes with a box of a bunch of guns, so you can pose him in a bunch of ways with a bunch of different weapons, so things never get stale with this guy (or in this...[See More]
Earth-Prime Superboy
Infinite Crisis (DC Direct) - Series 1
Rated 2.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Ugh, this is why I hate, and I mean HATE, DC Direct, because they make every character, half of them never get another figure, and the DCD figures aren't all that good. Why? You may ask, their sculpts are breathtaking and their paints apps are godlike. Bull. They limit posability with old fashioned articulation, then, to make matters worse, Earth Prime Superboy (who will be called Superboy-Prime from here on out) has his articulation even MORE limited by his Anti-Monitor armor. His face looks like Elvis with heat vision. Seriously. Other than that, the sculpt it pretty generic, and the paint apps are decent., I guess. But still, Superboy-Prime is a character I highly enjoy, and the fact that this is his only figure makes it that much more infuriating that it's BAD! I eman, I suppose there...[See More]
