Aquaman, King of Atlantis (Short Hair)
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Chancellor
WOOT, WOOT,WOOOT!!! I finally got my first DCUC figure! And and Aquaman at that? Psht, I got it made!!! So, mister Arthur Curry is the son of Tom Curry, a light house keeper. He and a beached mer-maid, Atlanna, conceived Orin, (Arthur's Atlantian name). Later in Arthur's life, still unknowing of his mother's home and race, Atlanna died of natural causes. Yes, I know my version contradicts the origin on the back of Aquaman's packaging, but this is how I know it. This figure is great. It's everything I could hope for from a figure except for a few things. What first struck me was the articulation. Obviously, I'd seen pictures of these odd leg POA, but I'd never seen them first hand. They work very well, and look a billion times more natural and realistic than common ML leg joints. That...[See More]
Wasp
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series
Rated 4.75 stars by Chancellor
This is probably my favorite female ML. Ms. Janet Van Dyne-Pym is complete in her current Wasp costume, and big, butterflyish wings. She has the same sculpt/body as Spider-Woman, only smaller hands, good paint job too, with light yellow on the bottom of her boots and hands. She also has short hair, which is currently not how her hair is in the comics, but whatever. So, she's has good looks, cool super powers, and a tight @ss, everything you'd want in a chic-action figure =). I'd buy her if I were you. She also comes with a part to the M.O.D.O.k. BAF, which is totally worth the whole series!!! ~Chancellor...[See More]
Moon Knight
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series
Rated 3.75 stars by Chancellor
Marvel Legends Moon Knight is an excellent figure. As I see it, the best choice of sculpt of his character. The cape is removable, revealing a angry, menacing face, and black costume. He's also got billy clubs, a.k.a nun-chucks, WHATEVER, and a staff thing, which is kinda bendy and I can't seem to get it to stay straight. And on the back of Moony's belt is a little loop that you can put his billy clubs on. I didn't see it in the check lists, but there is a variant with a lighter tone of gray/silver. I guess that would be more to the current comic line, but I kinda like that contrast you get with the black on white. Not much more to say about this figure, 'cept that he comes with a piece of the M.O.D.O.K (mechanical organism designed only for killing) build a figure. He's a sweet figure...[See More]
Iron Man
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 5.00 stars by Chancellor
This is Marvel Legends series 1 Iron Man. He is an awesome figure. This is one of my favorite suits of his, since he's probably worn it the longest. So, Iron Man has a really cool, really buff sculpt that has been used like, three other times, (with slight modifications), for the Iron Avenger. It's got good articulation, BUT, and this goes for all other times this sculpt was used, he has this weird, totally useless mid-chest line on him. It looks like it's supposed to be another POA, but it is completely stiff, weird, huh? He's also got sculpted-in repulser rays on his palms, which look sweet! His mask comes off, and undernieth is Tony Stark, with slicked back hair and a handlebar mustache! This is also my favorite under-mask Tony. He's got a good paint job, with a silver, sparkling coat...[See More]
Nightcrawler
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 9 - Galactus Series
Rated 3.50 stars by Chancellor
ML Night Crawler is around 6 inches tall, a tiny bit shorter than standard ML figures, which is fine becouse he is supposed to be kinda short. He's got standard articulation as well, plus his toes move and his bendy tail. And the tail is only loosely glued on so be careful! I've seen this done on some other figures too like Thor-Buster IronMan, when the chest is a different, rubbery plastic that is glued on to a much skinnier base. I have no idea why they do this but anyway... Night Crawler is supposed to be German, and Toy Biz did his enthicity justice by giving him a big, burly chin, and thick, curly hair. I actually like this, it makes him very unique and noticeable. His paint job looks fine, and body sculpt is good too. And he comes with the waist of Galactus, which was the first, and...[See More]
Mr. Fantastic
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 5
Rated 4.00 stars by Chancellor
Mr. Fantastic is a really well made figure. I'm pretty sure he's the first to have that classic Marvel Legends body sculpt, that he shares with Elektro and Urban Legends Spidey. His face and hair are exactly how you'd like them, with that smart look on his face, like he's about to invent something the FF could use against Doctor Doom, or Mole Man etc. His hands are different from Elektro and Spider-Man, and they have inter-changeable stretchy hands, one with a huge hand that bends, and the other is a hammer like fist. And as a pack-in, ML gave him a really fly hover car. pun intended. Hahaha! He's a really cool figure, and pretty easy to find. For me he was another addition to my Illuminati set. I like him, and I'm sure YOU will too. If anyone ever even reads this... ~Chance...[See More]
Luke Cage
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 14 - Mojo Series
Rated 3.00 stars by Chancellor
This is the Mojo series Luke Cage from Toy Biz. As everyone knows, his left hand is pretty messed up. First of all it just looks weird and unnatural, and the fingers always come off the hinges! I like the old costume though, or even a costume at all, even with the tiarra (spelling? sorry, I'm only 13, haha). The afro is well sculpted, and the kinda baggy-ish shirt. His chain belt is only glued on, so it might come off sooner or later. His legs look good, but on my figure sometimes the ankle joints get loose. His face looks mad, which is good for his character. He also come with a part of the BAF Mojo. I think this figure is pretty well done. P.S. Again, you guy here on the realm are awesome, and I hope I'm not too unprofessional for you, but I do my best. Also, how do you comment on a...[See More]
Hawkeye
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 7
Rated 3.50 stars by Chancellor
Man, I LOVE Hawkeye. He's and all time favorite Marvel of mine, but this figure did not meet my expectations. I spent forty freaking bucks on this guy! So, his sculpting is OK... I do like the scaled upper chest part, and all the pockets and stuff around his body, but his face looks kinda funny, his mouth mostly. The mask is the original one, which I like more than the one with the huge Batman ears. Obviously, everyone knew his quiver would be filled with sweet bum arrows, like the one with Scott Lang as Ant-Man, which goes with the cover of the comic they threw in with him. His hover bike or whatever is also cool, but it's difficult to get him to sit on it right. And I have to say, I would have been really disappointed if they hadn't given him the skirt :D It's a nice touch that...[See More]
Spider-Man vs The Sinister 6
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Box Sets
Rated 4.00 stars by Chancellor
Although the entire set looks amazing, I was only able to fine a loose Spider-Man from this set, and let me tell you I am glad I did! This, and maybe the Urban Legends Box Set Spidey are my favorites. The Sinister Six Spider-man has 40 points of articulation, including all four fingers, which is awesome! His sculpting is really good, except his shoulders are a little on the big side. Now, I've seen this corrected in various customs, his paint job is really dark! Under his muscles on his chest is like, a dark shadow that even overlaps his actual muscle! BUT, his posing abilities are huge! And with a little paint touch-ups he'll look right as rain :) But this figure! And if you can find it... or even afford it, get the whole set!!! ~Chancellor...[See More]
Wolverine (Brown Costume)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 6
Rated 4.00 stars by Chancellor
This is probably your best choice as far as wolverine MLs go. It's got his brown costume, which I like better than his yellow one. Of coarse, his claws are all bendy a can't stay straight unless you boil them, which I don't think a 5 year old would do, he'd just get frustrated. His paint job is good, aside from the line of brown to that yellow-ish is a little blurry. I like the sculpt on his boots, the big blue veins in his arms. His facial expression is exactly how any wolvie fan would want it, in a sort of grunting gesture, with one lip raised. I can imagine he'd also be great for customizing, like making his costume look more recent, or even as just a good base figure (I'd have to be a short custom though, haha)....[See More]
