Dangerous Curves Ahead
Danger Girl (McFarlane) - Special Editions
Rated 2.50 stars by somebody1
I bought this as an alternative to buying all 3 figures separately for a project. They're the exact same figures except they have pegs on their feet to fit into the base. The base also features a stack of skulls and an old wall you saw come with the individual figures. That's the only good thing that can be said of the base. It's nothing but super thing brittle plastic that reminds one of those hollow plastic railroad mountains/tunnels you get for train sets. It's never meant to be taken out of the package. The package itself is a very nice container that would make a good protective packaging for the figures once you created a new base. Overall it's the same figures glued to a base so unless you plan to just display it splurge and get the loose figures. UPDATE: I just got a better look...[See More]
Rockman
MegaMan (Bandai) - D-Arts
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
The originator of them all. This is a very anime based take on him as you see in the manga in Japan. He comes with an energy blast that looks a lot like the one that comes with X. You also get a spare arm with 3 hands and an alternate mega buster. You get a Met (Mettaur) and Rush who sadly still looks like he belongs to Roll and not Mega with that color scheme of his. The joints on this figure are nice and tight with no play and the seems are less visible. He is noticeably shorter than the other figures though i'm not sure if they're the correct scale together or not. The paint is clean and crisp as well. It can't get a full 5 stars because Rush isn't that interesting nor does he transform into anything. I'd have gone for some of his other modes if i could have. Overall 4.5 out of 5...[See More]
Megaman X (Zero)
MegaMan (Bandai) - D-Arts
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
This is the Zero you first meet in the earliest appearances of him in Megaman X games. It's a beautiful figure that comes with an energy blast and multiple heads like the others in the line. The downside is once again the very loose and sloppy joints. The head is the worst as it just wobbles around until you force the hair into a spot that holds it in place. As with the Megaman X figure the seams are pretty obvious but the paint and quality is top notch. The same issue as before appears as he can't keep the energy blast in his cannon (like X you get 2 of these). Another 4.0 out of 5 as basically he uses the same tricks and articulation as X....[See More]
Megaman X (Metallic Version)
MegaMan (Bandai) - D-Arts
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
The one I bought was about the cost of it at the SDCC but this was because the right arm was broken at the shoulder joint and his left foot was out of the socket. The pictures you see of this line shows them being highly pose-able but the brand new ones I have are not that pose-able at all. The have good articulation with many of the points being hidden by other parts or are specially designed to stay hidden even when bent. The energy blasts that are meant to lock into the cannon don't stay put though. The figure comes with 3 alternate faces, 2 types of energy blasts, 2 versions of the blaster: 1 to put the blasts in and one that looks like he hasn't charged it yet. The metallic finish is nice and even and the paint applications to the face are very well done. The figure does come off as...[See More]
Master Chief Evolution
Halo - Anniversary (McFarlane) - Series 1 - Boxed Sets
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
A real money saver as for 25.00 or so you can get all 3 of the anniversary figures without having to chase after them one at a time. The downside is the "The Package" chief with "117" on his chest isn't included so you still have to track that one down. They cover every armor he had since the original game. They come with weapons representing each game as well: the assault rifle, dual smg, and sniper rifle. Sadly like the H4 figures no other accessories are included, no grenades or anything. The articulation is the usual mix of good and bad that we all have come to expect from McFarlane. The paint is above average on the ones I have. It's for sure a set to get if you don't already have the figures....[See More]
UNSC Cryotube (with Master Chief)
Halo 4 (McFarlane) - Deluxe Figures
Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1
The Figure: It's the same chief you get in the other packaging but with the sticky grenade gun and a "frosted" paint job that is super faint on mine to the point you don't even notice it really. The tube itself is okay. The door engineering is really good so that it can't open on it's own. The interior is very bare bones and the figure is able to bounce around inside it. The tube itself is badly painted on mine with the drybrushing of the darker metallic color being sloppy. The only signs of "frost" is on the window and it really looks more like those window clings you get for Christmas decorating than anything else. The back of the tube has exposed screws, though i doubt most people will look back there. The tube would have greatly improved if they'd added a cheap LED light inside like...[See More]
Cortana
Halo 4 (McFarlane) - Series 1
Rated 2.00 stars by somebody1
Not sure what to say about this figure. It's the first cortana not to be made of tinted clear plastic and to be articulated. Unlike the base of all the other cortana's going back to the original Joyride toys it isn't made to light up, it looks like they might have thought about it then changed their mind. The articulation is minimal and the entire sculpt is bad including the face. I have no doubt McFarlane had access to the CG files so i don't know why her face is so terrible. Maybe someone with the PC version will do a 3d printed version. Her other accessory is a spare hand that is attached to a "hologram" of the display screen she uses in game to wake the Chief. It's another neat item that would have been great to find a way to have lit. The only really interesting thing about this...[See More]
Master Chief
Halo 4 (McFarlane) - Series 1
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
The newest version of the chief that is also repackaged with the stasis tube. The articulation is good, better than some I've bought, and the paint job is above average for McFarlane. The only real complaint is the lack of extra weapons with the figure. I hope they release some weapon packs like they did before, which are now 20.00 a package, so that we can get more variety and customization going or that a 3rd party starts making them. Overall a good figure but the lack of extra gear/weapons is a big setback for this line. I would have preferred some more detail in him given the amount of detail on his game model but at this scale it would probably be barely noticeable. The under suit (the black parts) are smooth on this figure while on the H3 chief they're a bit more textured and in H4...[See More]
Spartan Soldier (Blue)
Halo 4 (McFarlane) - Series 1
Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1
A blue variant of the red spartan he comes with a single weapon, H4 figures apparently don't rate grenades like Reach figures did. Halo (Funko) - Pop! Vinyl Figures
Rated 1.50 stars by somebody1
I bought this in order to add her to my cortana collection and like one of the dealers online funko's quality is bad. Unlike him i haven't had to glue her head back on or glue the box together again (apparently both happens alot with their figures) but when you turn her over you can see the really bad connection where her head plugs onto her neck. It's uneven and not flush, she's not solid but hollow in 2 pieces, and on top of that this area has the trademark info stamped onto it. It's not noticeable most of the time unlike the paint job in several spots. The dark blue looks like it rubbed off before packaging and also has spots of it on the lighter blue. Overall i can see why they only charge 9. 95 for these things. It would be a great figure if the quality was as good as the prototype...[See More]
