Motoko / Batou Ghost in the Shell (Yamato) - Stand Alone Complex Figurines Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1 I tend to get these import GIS figures as gifts from a college buddy and it's a good thing as this one is a pretty penny. It features a sculpt of Mokoto and Batou based on their Stand Alone Complex anime appearance. Motoko is wearing her trademark bodysuit and matching stockings with her jacket. She comes with her basic pistol molded in hand. The paint on the figure is very good with very few mold lines at all and no blemishes. The colors are anime accurate for both of them. She has no articulation at all and this is one time I think that's a good thing as the pose is perfect for the character and it looks like she is leaping out from behind a corner or landing in a stylized pose from a high fall. This is the first Batou I have owned and the likeness is dead on down to his scowl. He is...[See More]
Major Kusanagi (Diver Down) Ghost in the Shell (Yamato) - Basic Series Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1 I tend to get these import GIS figures as gifts from a college buddy and it's a good thing as this one is a pretty penny. It features a sculpt of Mokoto based on her manga appearance. The special flotation diving suit is made to keep cyborgs like her from sinking while in water as cyborgs aren't very buoyant. She comes with the silenced SMG she uses in the comic to accidentally kill the person she is meant to capture and leads to the end of the first manga series. The paint on the figure is very good with very few mold lines at all and no blemishes. The colors are comic accurate when it comes to her but as the manga was black and white it is hard to tell what color the rest was meant to be and is the reason there are variant outfits. The SMG is molded in a generic gunmetal color which I...[See More]
Sticks'N Stones Rock Lords (Tonka) - Evil Rock Lords Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 The Rocklords was a spin off of the Go-bots series that appeared after the go-bot movie came out and it didn't do well at all. He is listed on his info as being made of coal and magnetite. From his bio: "Sticks 'n Stones are living proof that two heads are worse than one. They're constantly at odds with each other. But give them a single purpose-destroying good rocks-and they become an awesome fighting force. The very sight of them charging into battle with their Cactus Club and Double Duty mace is enough to send enemies flying home!" The figure is molded in color, not representing either of the materials he is said to be made of, and then detailed with black paint. The articulation is rather odd as the fact he transforms from a lump of rock into a figure allows him a very strange range...[See More]
Katsumi Liquer Kia Asamiya's Silent Mobius (Toycom) - Basic Series Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1 Having seen silent mobius only once back in the 90s I never figured to find a figure from the series let alone one in the package. Katsumi is the daughter of the Gigelf and Fuyuka Liqueur, who were respectively the most powerful sorcerer and sorceress of their generation. She herself is a powerful sorceress in her own right and bears her father's sentient sword Grospoliner (aka "The Emperor of Swords") in battle against entities and supernatural threats of all kinds. Her father opened a portal to another world using magic and technology and now she is part of a special agency to fight off supernatural threats that tend to come through the portal.
The figure is very well made with super clean and crisp paint and features a large gun, non remove-able, on her waist. The articulation is next...[See More]
War Machine Iron Man 2 - 2010 Movie (Hasbro) - Comic Series Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1 The comic variant of the war machine. For such a small figure it has a lot of detail to it including painted on labels. It is pretty accurate to the movie figure and is in scale with the marvel universe line although it probably should be slightly larger since it is taller than most humans. The figure is molded in color with the details painted on and there are a few blemishes on mine but they're hidden by other parts such as being under the arm on the side of the body. The figure shows good articulation with the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees articulated. The two shoulder mounted weapons are also articulated but they hardly ever stay mounted to their holders as the fit is pretty bad on mine but the two "gunfire" inserts do stay very well inside the weapons. The figure comes with a...[See More]

Sydney Savage Danger Girl (McFarlane) - Basic Series Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1 This is a rather odd series considering it is made by McFarlane. It is very much like the old lines from the company before the figures all got smaller. The Australian member of the team who is always in trouble for her methods even though she usually ends up proving herself to have been right. She isn't above using her looks to get the job done and has a weakness for fancy clothes. She also has been seen flirting with Bruce Wayne. I'll cover the accessories first because they out did themselves with these. The display base for her features an Australian scene featuring a swamp base with her name on it with a large croc and some fencing posts with real string holding them together. Her only accessory is her whip which looks a bit generic and doesn't stay in her hand all that well....[See More]
Natalia Kassle Danger Girl (McFarlane) - Basic Series Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1 This is a rather odd series considering it is made by McFarlane. It is very much like the old lines from the company before the figures all got smaller. The former KGB officer and field commander of Danger Girl she turned out to be a double agent for the Hammer Empire and is the only DG agent to ever go bad. She is currently a general for the Hammer Empire and wants little more than to take over the world and kill Abby Chase. I'll cover the accessories first because they out did themselves with these. The display base for her features an arctic diorama featuring a snowy base with her name on it and frosted pieces of semi soft plastic made to look like sheets of ice. The The trio of various sized combat knives do not stay in her hand very well. Abby's a bit low on articulation which isn't...[See More]
Abbey Chase Danger Girl (McFarlane) - Basic Series Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1 This is a rather odd series considering it is made by McFarlane. It is very much like the old lines from the company before the figures all got smaller. Abby is the main character of the Danger Girl comics, a former adventurer and treasure hunter, and responsible for getting the Danger Girls to defeat the Hammer empire and soon after she became an agent within the covert operations group. She replaced Natalia Kassle as the team's field-commander. I'll cover the accessories first because they out did themselves with these. The display base for her features a jungle diorama featuring skulls, bamboo, plants, a main part with her name on it, and a chunk of temple. The handgun accessory is okay but tends not to stay in her hand very well. Abby's a bit low on articulation which isn't too...[See More]
The base of these danger girls are awesome, I used two of them for my customs.
J.T. Marsh (with Gridiron Command E-Frame) (Prototype) Exosquad (Playmates) - E-Frames Rated 2.00 stars by somebody1 I got into this series near the end of its run and thus had little access to the main group of figures. JT is the commander of the squad in the cartoon and tends to be a bit gruff. Sadly, like all the toys in the line, his e-frame isn't anywhere near animation accurate. The cockpit not enclosing fully around him is the biggest issue although the figure does fit very snugly into the cockpit. The machine isn't very detailed and articulation points are only the wings, elbows, knees, and feet. The figure isn't much better with the articulation being about the same and a passing likeness of the character. The frame included 2 firing missiles that after about 4 shots wouldn't do must since the spring had stretched out, the yellow glowing gun arm and the fan arm looking thing that you think...[See More]
