Master Chief Halo 3 (McFarlane) - Series 3 - Campaign Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael Let me get this off my chest right away. I hate Halo. I hate any games after the first one, I hate all the Xbox versions PERIOD. I hate the fans, I hate Bungie, and in all honesty I probably hate you for not hating it too. However, I always found myself absolutely LOVING the Spartan's armor designs. And with green being my favorite color, I had to pick up a Master Chief. he's got a great sculpt, which is to be expected since it's McFarlane. Speaking of things Todd McFarlane has done well, he's really pulled out all the stops for articulation. This thing can pull off any pose I could possible imagine, which is great, finally McFarlane has learned how to combine sculpt AND articulation. The paint apps are flawless, and give the figure a great feel. I think my only complaints about Master...[See More]
Omega Spawn Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 30 - Adventures of Spawn Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael Alright, so I'm not really that in to Spawn, but I know a cool figure when I see one. When I saw Omega Spawn I thought to myself "Wow, that's pretty cool". And what do you do when you see a figure you like? Well you buy it of course! Omega Spawn is a great INaction figure (INaction because he has next to ZERO articulation). He has a masterful, smooth sculpt, with paint apps as clean as... as... dang it, I don't have a decent metaphor. ANyway, great sculpt, great paint apps, and this costume just works so well. I don't know, I'm so used to the black and red that the clean white is a breath of fresh air, with the contrasting neon green in his eyes and belt really working well. All in all, Omega Spawn in a fun little statue figure hybrid thingy. McFarlane did a good job with this one,...[See More]
Vash the Stampede (Red) Trigun: Planet Gunsmoke (Kaiyodo) - Basic Series Rated 3.00 stars by Azrael Alright, there are so many things to cover here that I don't even know where to start. Let's start with the good. Vash the Stampede has a pretty great sculpt. Spot on with the anime, and the paint apps are done well without stray marks. Alright, now on to the bad. He's 7 inches tall, so he doesn't fit in well with my Marvel and DC comics collection. Nor does he fit in with my miscellaneous collection. He has pretty good arm articulation (as well as a hidden gun in his wrist) but sadly, from the waist down, thigns get stupid. his knees don't bend, but for some reason his thighs can swivel and his feet can move. That's kind of weird. From the waist up you get ML grade stuff, from the waist down, you get some pretty bad ish. Meanwhile his colors are off, instead of blond his ahir is brown,...[See More]
Venom (Black Sea) Spider-Man - Web Splashers (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael You ever see those weird figures of characters you enjoy and think to yourself "What in the world am I looking at?" Well so do I, but in this case I thought "What is this piece of awesome staring me in the face?!" Yes, it's just one of those variants I simply HAD to have. Deep sea venom is my favorite color combo, black and green! This figure has some pretty good articulation, and sweet looking paint that really brings out his eyes (tee hee!)! His sculpt is pretty original too, Like Venom and the Loch ness Monster had a freaky little baby. But out of all this figure's hilariously amazing quirks, I think my favorite part about this figure is the little Venom head that replaces his right hand. It just amuses me to no end, it makes no sense, yet I can't help but love it. I guess if you need...[See More]
Venom Spider-Man (2000) (Toy Biz) - Series 4 Rated 2.50 stars by Azrael I've gotta say, as you may know by now I am a fan of Venom and Symbiotes everywhere, sadly, this Venom doesn't necessarily meet my standard. Let's start with the fact that this is essentially the Planet of the Symbiotes Lasher with different hands feet and head, hell even the action feature is present (though it doesn't work, which causes a bit of confusion among casual toy buyers). I suppose the blue wash would look decent if it was applied evenly, but it's not, there's dark blue on the legs and a thick bright blue on the shoulders, it's a bit irritating to look at. I guess the bottom line (yes I'm getting to it a bit quicker than usual, there's not a lot to talk about here) is that this figure doesn't really WOW me, it barely even MEHs me. It's just a bad figure. Well not bad as in...[See More]
Hybrid Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Venom - Planet of the Symbiotes Rated 4.50 stars by Azrael Alright, Hybrid is another cool symbiote that came out of this line, and I forgot to mention him in my review of Lasher, but he's pretty comic accurate too. Anyway, Hybrid is my second favorite figure of the line. He's got a pretty cool sculpt with solid paint apps, something Toy Biz is notorious for doing. His articulation is the basic 5 points, at least on the body. On his back there are six "Pincer Wings" that are each on a swivel, which clamp together when you squeeze his legs. It's one of those action features that are pretty cool, so cool in fact, that I have to mention it in multiple sentences as opposed to skipping over it because I believe no one gives a crud about it. Anyway, Hybrid is just a plain great figure. I don't know how many ways I can say it. Wait, what's this?! A 4.5...[See More]
Lasher Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Venom - Planet of the Symbiotes Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael FFFFFFFFFFFF LASHER!!! Alright, I'm a huge fan of Venom and the symbiote mythos, so getting all the cool figures from this line was a must. And with lasher and Scream being the only comic accurate ones (to a degree) I obviously went for them first. Lasher is a pretty cool figure, he always looked a bit slimmer in the comics though, and the parts of him that are black were just a darker green, but something tells me this is all I'll ever get of him, so I can't complain about minor inconsistencies. Lasher has a cool action features where he spins around, blah blah 5 bucks says you don't care about the action feature anyway. The paint apps are spot on and the sculpt and articulation were the ebst of the line, I read an interview of the guy who designed this mold, it was his first project on...[See More]
Deathstroke DC Infinite Heroes (Mattel) - 75 Years of Super Power Rated 4.50 stars by Azrael Alright, I guess I get the privilege of being the first to review this. First elt me jsut say thank you to Mattel for honoring my requests for a Deathstroke, now just put out Jean Paul valley Azrael and I'm rpetty sure we're set. If you do I'll buy 100 Infintie Heroes as a thank you. Moving on, Deathstroke is a consistently good character in comics, and it's fun to watch him bring beating after beating to generation after generation of Titans, Teen Titans, and on occasion the Justice League. Sadly, he doesn't have a lot of figures. On a related note, he doesn't have a lot of commic accurate figures, which this certainly doesn't help. Let me start with the reasons this isn't a 5. He's blue and silver,a s opposed to dark blue and light blue on the scales. I dunno, I guess it looks kind of...[See More]
Spider-Man Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 6 Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael Alright, so as I expected from the beginning, We've had about a million variants of Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe line already. Regular, dark blue variant, black costume, red and black costume, black costume without the highlights, Spider-Man and his amazing friends, and upside down spider-man, with a couple more variants on the way, but none of them are like this; House of M Spider-Man. I've always liked this costume, it's an awesome twist on the classic red and blue duds Spidey always sports. He uses the Black Spider-man body with a slightly retooled head. All his webbing is painted on, which is pretty well done. That's right Hasbro, I'm swallowing my pride, you've done a good job (now I'm waiting to say it about a Marvel Legends figure). Anyway, his articulation is the exact same...[See More]

Rex "The Doctor" Lewis G.I. Joe - Rise of Cobra (Hasbro) - Collection 1 - Wave 3 Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael Oh man, where to start on this thing? It's just 5 dollars worth of AWESOME! I mean, I like every part of this guy. To start, he's essentially psycho mantis in a wig and lab coat, which is cool, and his accessories are flat out amazing! He comes with a briefcase with 3 nuclear reactors inside, followed by two Freddy Krueger type gauntlet claws. His wig, coat, and gas mask are all removable, which leaves a head that looks like a mellowed out, unmasked Deadpool. The figure itself is pretty nice, but since I wasn't a fan of the character, I just bought the toy for the awesome accessories and the possibilities of a psycho mantis. Anyway, this figure is pretty cool, which I've said a million times, so you the reader, must wonder "Why all this praise and only a 4/5?" well that's because coming...[See More]
