Wonder Woman
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 1
Rated 4.90 stars by uhhuhhuh
I do remember seeing this one in the stores as a kid. I didn't recall any kids in school ever having her. I bought this figure only one time back in 2001 from Planet Force for around $35.00 on the Canadian half card. I pulled her off the card and she has been on my shelf ever since. This sculpt was great for its time, but the 1998 DC Direct Wonder Woman (original version) is a better sculpt. A C-8/9 loose/complete Wonder Woman goes between $15.00 to $25.00. The Canadian half card goes in C-8/9 condition will run $30.00 to $45.00. A C-8/9 full carded version goes between $45.00 to $65.00. The rare third series card (33-back) in C-8/9 condition goes between $55.00 to $75.00....[See More]

All your reviews make me want to get into the super powers line
Tyr
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 3
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
Tyr was another third series carded figure, like the other ones, that I never found in a toy aisle. Though the rocket firing arm action was really great, I think, like with other third series characters, this one should have been passed up for more deserving characters. Tyr was a villain of the Legion of Super Heroes (whom none of which were ever made into figures). I can't understand how he fit into the Super Powers line. Despite this fact, his figure was a great figure. I bought my first C-9 loose/complete Tyr figure in 2001 from Zap! Comics for around $47.00. I sold it in 2003, but bought another one in 2004 for around $50.00, and another one in 2005 for around $29.00. Today, a C-8/9 loose/complete Tyr goes between $30.00 to $55.00. A C-8/9 carded Tyr goes between $65.00 to $95.00! I...[See More]

Super Powers (Kenner) - Vehicles
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
This is a really cool toy! I don't recall seeing it in stores, but I did see it in the toy commercials. I bought one loose/complete with a C-8 box for around $27.00. At least it's a vehicle Superman used on the cartoons! A C-8/9 loose/complete gets around $20.00 to $30.00. A C-8/9 boxed version gets around $35.00 to $55.00....[See More]
Superman
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 1
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
I remember as a child in a downtown Ben Franklin store in 1985, looking at a Superman Super Powers figure, hoping that I could get it with my "bible bucks". Before I go on, "bible bucks" was a program a church had that I was going to at the time. They were only worth half their value (50 cents), so every 2 Sundays you showed up equalled 1 "bible buck". If you invited someone to come to church with you, you got an extra "bible buck" (50 cents in value). After so many weeks, we could take them only to the Ben Franklin store to cash them in for their value in store credit. I had 4 "bible bucks" (which was $2.00 in store credit). I forgot thinking that I had enough, but the pastor said that I could only get anything no more than $2.00 with them. I think it cost $3.99, if I rightly recall. So,...[See More]
Steppenwolf
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 2
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
This was the Super Powers figure that was popular due to the fact that you had to send in several proofs of purchase to receive this exclusive figure offer. The first time I saw it, it was the coolest figure ever with the shiny ax attached to a backpack. Why didn't they put this guy in the cartoon? Later, he was carded on both the second and third series cards. I never saw this figure carded in the aisles as a kid. I bought my first loose/complete Steppenwolf figure from Main Street Hobbies in 2001 for around $12.00. I bought another one with the comic on a website for around $28.00. Nowadays, a C-8/9 loose/complete Steppenwolf will run between $12 to $22.00 . A C-8/9 carded version will run about $55.00 to $70.00 for either the second or third series carded versions, due to both being...[See More]
Shazam
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 3
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
Whatever name you want to call him -- Shazam! or Captain Marvel-- this figure is AWESOME regardless! Actually, I would have bought this had I had the money and found it in a toy aisle! I always called him Shazam! I thought probably the same way about this character now as I did back then -- a generic Superman! I vaguely remember his cartoon, but I still think he is a cool character, despite his close imitation of Superman. I remember he had a spot on the Nabisco Super Heroes cookie box from 1982. Despite being a tough figure to find carded, he is more expensive to find carded or loose/complete than Superman! I bought my first Shazam! C-9 loose/complete figure for around $56.00 in 2001 from Planet Force. I sold it in 2003, and bought it back in 2005 for around $132.00. I also had to sell...[See More]
Samurai
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 3
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
Samurai is one of the most expensive to buy, either loose/complete or carded! As a child, like the rest of the third series carded figures, I never found it in a toy aisle. This figure is one of the most expensive of the third series characters! The likeness is the best made to date! I've saw C-8/9 carded version go between $85.00 to $280.00. I bought one loose/complete figure from Planet Force in 2001 for $53.00. I sold it in 2003, and bought one back on a website within a couple months for around $57.00. Nowadays, you can find a C-8/9 loose/complete figure for around $55.00 to $106.00. I'm hoping to eventually own a carded version of this figure if I can find a bargain!...[See More]
Robin
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 1
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
This is the best sculpt of the monkey Grayson Robin-- PERIOD! I was given this figure (missing the cape) by a neighbor in 1989. This was the first figure from the Super Powers line I ever owned. In early '90, I got bored with having it and traded it to a kid down the street. In 1999, I bought one C-9 loose/complete from After Hours Toys for around $14.00. I have bought a few more loose/complete Robins over the past few years. A C-8/9 loose/complete Robin goes between $14.00 to 25.00. A C-8/9 carded version goes between $75.00 to $110.00. A C-8/9 carded Robin on a third series card (33-back)goes around $150.00 to $180.00, due to its limited run....[See More]
Red Tornado
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 2
Rated 5.00 stars by uhhuhhuh
Red Tornado was supposedly one of the most popular DC super heroes in the mid-'80's, but I don't recall seeing him, hearing of him in the stores, or owned by kids in school. But, just the same, the figure did become a favorite of mine! Yes, this would've been one I would've liked if I would have found it! The art work on the card and the spinning action was pretty cool, too! I bought a C-9 loose/complete figure from Zapp! Comics for around $34.00 in 2001. Red Tornado really should've been on the Super Powers cartoons. A C-8/9 carded figure runs between $65.00 to $86.00. A C-8/9 loose/complete figure runs between $29.00 to $40.00....[See More]
Plastic Man
Super Powers (Kenner) - Series 3
Rated 4.50 stars by uhhuhhuh
Plastic Man, like the other third series carded figures, was never seen by me in the stores in the run of the line. If I could've found Plastic Man, I probably wouldn't have bought him. A kid that rode my bus in high school told me he bought this and the Cyborg figures at Kroger on sale in the '80's for around $1.99 each. The neck stretching feature was, yet again, a new idea from Kenner to the line. This, unfortunately, is not as good as sculpt than the 1998 DC Direct Plastic Man figure variant (with tools for hands) is better in detail. Mego had a prototype for an elastic stretching Plastic Man doll in the late '70's, but this figure never made it to mass-production. I will say that the market for the loose/complete Plastic Man has dropped! I bought my first one in 2002 for $93.00. I...[See More]
