EclipsoDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 12

MilburyThis Eclipso is another one of those vanilla DCUC figures that will only appeal to fans of the character. A flat and boring 6 and a half inches of nothing, no accessories, just a basic template body that would be better suited for the Jean Loring Eclipso than the hulking villain from 'Heart of Darkness'. His expression doesn't live up to even the image here and just looks dopey instead of creepy. Sadly the only other version of him is even worse so if you like this character this is your only real option at a six inch scale. Get him if you must, but don't expect much....[

Captain Atom (Gold) (Chase)DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 4

MilburyNate here is about as plain a figure as they come. No accessories, no base, no open hands to hold anything, just the basic two-fisted figure with standard Marvel Legends-era articulation and that's it. The KC-era styling of his uniform at least sets him apart from the even blander standard Wave 4 Captain Atom, but besides that he's dull as dishwasher. Recommended only for fans of the Captain Atom character or anyone who wants a sidekick for their Wave 19 Magog....[

NightwingDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3

cornflakepizzaI purchased my figure loose from Ebay.
The appearance of the figure is akin to what you'd see in the comic books. I was especially pleased with the headsculpt. Nightwing's expression is neutral/serious without being grim or snarly, which is appropriate given his lighthearted demeanor in the comics. His face is attractive (again, appropriate) and his hair is similar to how it's styled in the comics. 5 stars for the face.
The body of the figure is nice and lean, in keeping with his acrobat credentials. I found that the hands are simply too large to grip the escrima sticks the figure comes with (and from the reviews I've read of the figure, this is a common issue.) I also had some difficulty keeping my figure upright and balanced, but I'm kind of a novice so perhaps I just don't know how...[

BobTheEggThis action figure is simply fantastic in my opinion. His sculpt is so detailed and he has so many weapons, plus he can store all of them. I like that. I like that a lot.
the sword doesn't fit all the way into his scabbard--there is a small portion of the blade that comes out--but that doesn't matter. I highly recommend this, it is AWESOME. And it is a great rendition of Deathstroke the Terminator. Definitely proud of having this in my collection....[

Abin Sur / Green LanternDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - 2-Packs

pock63Abin Sur is a strait reuse of the Hall Jordan body with a little more black on the costume and a new head. Normally I would be angry about this blatant of a a reuse but I'll let it pass in this case because they are both lanterns and there costumes are often identical in the comic. The head sculpt is good on this guy and so are the joints....[

SharkDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 11

pock63Shark is a old green lantern villain. I was surprised that mattel decided to make him instead of another yellow lantern in the set. This figure is a decent figure but deffenatly not one to go out of your way to get. The sculpt on this figure is generally boring. Apart from the head it looks like a standard dcu body with fins. He is painted with a metallic purple with absolutely no shading whatsoever. As fore the head it is orange with a little bit of airbrushing around the gills. This paint on his body isn't very sharp and it blurs slightly where it goes from one collar to the next. The joints are standard dcu. Over all this figure leaves something to be desired. I would have liked to sea some better paints on this one. Maybe a dirty wash or some dry brushing on the head. This isn't a bad...[

Red Tornado (Modern)DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 1

pock63This is one of my favorite action figures of all time. This was one of the first DC Universe Classics I bought. I have always been a fan of the design and bright colors on Red Tornado's costume. Mattels rendition of this character was a perfect match to the classic dcu R.T. the paint job on this figure is nothing short of magnificent. All the base plastic is red so you don't need to worry about paint rub. They airbrushed on a darker red fore all the shading on the body. The lines on the costume are super sharp. They are all bright yellow with a orange wash(some of the ones I saw in stores didn't have this orange wash but I was lucky enough to get one of the ones that did. His cape and gloves are made of soft rubber. Like most dcu his cape attaches to his back so that it doesn't flop...[
