Cyborg Superman / MongulDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - 2-Packs

pock63I picked up this pack a while ago at toys r us. Both figures looked nice in the packaging but once I opened them up I found out that Mongul was the only good figure in the pack.
Cyborg Superman is very badly constructed in just about every way. Most of the metal parts on him are just glued on top of some old dc superheroes superman molds. Also his paint job is sloppy and the coller of red on his boot doesn't match the red on his waist! As fore his joints they are standard DCU joints except his right shoulder has restricted movement because of the metal piece they added on. If you want a cyborg superman the killwog series one looks much better. It has a different left leg and a much better paint job. The mongul from the two pack is much better than the Superman. The sculpt on Mongul is...[

Kilowog (Collect & Connect)DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 11

pock63This is the best DCU collect and connect figure yet. Kilowog towers over normal DCU figures. His sculpt is flawless! The great sculpt is complemented by a great paint job. The paint on the body is incredibly clean and the dry brushing on the head brings out all of the detail. The only thing about this that could be better are the joints. The hips and shoulders have slightly restricted movement because of the immense size of Killowogs mussels. Apart from that this figure is perfect.

Blue BeetleDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 13

pock63The DC Universe Classics Blue Beetle is one of the best DCU yet. It has a very detailed sculpt which is a perfect rendition of the character. I like the head sculpt on the DC Direct beetle better but apart from that this is the best Beetle yet. He is one of the best jointed DCU figures yet. It has double knee joints, double elbow joints, and half ball joint wrists. All the rest of the joints match standard dcu. He comes with removable clear wings and a removable shield/knife fore his arm. Both look very nice the one drawback is that there are three large wholes in his back where the wings attach.

articulation 9/10

Aca1raven2002Whether you a Batman fan or not, this is a cool figure. DCUC Series 10 Batman is a very detailed and articulated figure. Decked out in his "Movie" costume from the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton he comes with a standard Batarang and a funky Bat-Computer. Articulation is absolutely great for posing. The paint job I have on mine is flawless and the packaging is pretty standard. All in all a great Batman figure and a great addition for any DCUC fan. In turn a 5 out of 5.
Collectors Addition.
If your a big fan of Batman, I suggest that you also check out the Joker from this same series. A great addition to go with your Batman....[

VigilanteDC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 8

CplHicksI must say I am very impressed with Mattel DCUC classics line. It looks so good. I’ve never been hardcore into comics so I don’t really know a lot about a lot of the character selection for this line. Wave 8 was the Giganta wave. I really wanted to build her so I set out to buying the figures I needed. I picked Vigilante thinking I just wanted the baf piece he came with. I knew very little of him. I looked up his bio online and I learned he was DC’s answer to Marvel’s Punisher. He seemed pretty cool so I started to pick up the modern comics (sadly I only picked up 4 until the series was cancelled) The figure really started to grow on me. Now I display it proudly on my shelf. This mass murder stands about 6 inches tall.

There is some really good paint work here. The lines on...[

CplHicksListen up ya bastich’s!!!! Dis ere’ is the review ya been watin’ for! That’s right da Main Man himself got a action figure made of him. Just don’t call it a doll or I’ll frag ya inta the next universe!!!! You see da main Man is so awesome they couldn’t release him in stores because he all dem geeks would buy him instead of all them other big cheese’s. So I beat th’ the tar out of dem Matel executives to make me into plastic. So dem Mattel geekwads released this figure back in 2008 as a SDCC exclusive. This action figure is big bad just like me and stands about 8 inches which is just the size of th’ main man’s…

Great pain on Lobo. The colours are bright and well applied. The details are nicely applied and look great. I enjoy the dark blood splotches on his boots. It looks like...[

Adam Strange & Starfire: Space Heroes (Mattycollector)DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Exclusives

playercustomsI'm having mixed feeling about this set.Sure! both charcaters are an important part of my collection, but I haven't really grown on them.I really don't know why.You see,I think that starfire's body is a bit skinny, I would have prefered if mattel used the power girl/wonder woman/artemis body.I think it would have fit o'l starfire here better. My starfire's paint apps are fine.No major quality issues .Articulation is standard for DCUC and works really well with m growing teen titans collection.
Adam strange is an another story.I don't like this costume. It should have many raised elements and Mattel has don nothing.Adam sports a broken leg and a broken bicep.Mattel, come on.........
Overall. This set is probaly reserved for people that love DCUC, No one should avoid them but hope you don't...[

Deathstroke (Masked)DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3

AzraelNot gonna lie, I love Deathstroke. No matter where he is, he always manages to be hands down amazing. Sadly, like many other great yet under the radar characters, he doesn't get many figures. When I got DCUC Deathstroke, I was ecstatic! He comes with a good amount of weapons which all work well with him. His sculpt is flawless and the pain apps are uncanny. My one complaint about him is he isn't comic accurate. He's missing his metal neck guard, which is a great attribute of the character. I guess another minor complaint is that his fingers are all connected, so he can't get a hold of the trigger on any of his guns. Slightly disappointing it is. Other than these few minor quirks, this Deathstroke figure is top of the line, and you'd have to be crazy to consider getting anything else. With...[

playercustomsyou can probaly see that the bodies are complete reuse of previous figures.Hal jordan is a direct rerelease with a new paintjob of the wave 3 figure.Abin sur is the main draw of this pack.Me myself passed on these figure many times.I only picked them up after getting kilowog. The abin sur is fine. But he had a loose bicep and his leg broke off.I ended up switching arms with jordan and switching legs with jordan as well.I would only pick up this figure as a teambuilder and nothing more...[

AzraelSo I was lucky to snag this guy when DCUCs were at their scarcest. I was walking over by Walmart one day, and ebing the fan of Keatonman I am (lol rhyme) I just had to grab him. He looks rpetty good, the movie outfit with a comic face, good blend indeed. His bat laptop provides a good amount of loling, although it is surprisingly intricate and I find myself placing him on my computer desk, pretending he's blogging. The paint apps are solid, not a stray mark in sight (with all black and a symbol it'd be pretty embarassing if there was). The sculpt is nothing special however. But that's where the figure loses face with me. Other than the bat laptop (or battop, whatever) this guy isn't all that special. He even makes it hard for me to find cool poses for him to stand in (emphasis on cool)...[
