Disney (Super7) Reviews
Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 3.75 stars by RMaster007
With Super7's now-ended Disney Ultimates line, they sought to represent some of the company's most popular films, including Alice in Wonderland, which was fortunate enough to get two representatives in one wave. I got Alice months ago for a discount, and even by Super7 standards, she was poorly-made. The Mad Hatter was released alongside her, and I recently got him for cheaper through eBay, so it's time to see if he's any better. One thing I'll credit Super7 for is that they gave all of their Disney Ultimates a unique package. The Mad Hatter has a wider than average box, as to fit all his accessories, but it's designed to resemble his huge table, complete with various silverware and lantern lights, while the slip cover has a swirly green checker pattern. Even though there's very few tape...[See More]
Hyacinth Hippo (Fantasia)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 4.35 stars by RMaster007
Disney's musical film Fantasia was composed of all sorts of memorable segments, ranging from Mickey Mouse as the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" to the terrifying Chernabog, as well as "Dance of the Hours," a display of the company's love of anthropomorphic animals. One of such animals is the lovely Hyacinth Hippo, proving that even the largest animals in the wild are graceful dancers, at least in cartoons. Continuing the Disney Ultimates line's trend of giving everyone a unique package, Hyacinth has a primarily purple and pink color scheme for her box, with lovingly painted character artwork and a bio on back. There's only a single twist-tie and a few bits of tape to worry about, and they can be cut out easily for everything to be removed and replaced with no hassle. The slip cover is a gold...[See More]
Alice (Alice in Wonderland)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 3.50 stars by RMaster007
As with Pinocchio, the story of Alice in Wonderland existed well before the animated Disney movie, but it's that version that people remember most. They did a great job capturing the strangeness of Wonderland, thanks to great animation and humor, along with memorable characters. It's no surprise Super7 decided to bring some of the characters to the world of Ultimates, including Alice herself. Alice is the only figure in the second wave to get normal-sized packaging, compared to how wide and deep the other figures' boxes are. The slipcover has a blue checkered pattern, and the box underneath has painted graphics based off Wonderland itself. It's all nice and attractive, but we're here to open it up. There's only two ties holding the figure in, and they can be cut out easily. The renders...[See More]
Robin Hood (Stork Costume)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 3.70 stars by RMaster007
If there's one Disney movie I can say is my favorite right now, it's Robin Hood. Its quirky charm and beautiful animation has made it a classic I can watch time and again. Super7 dove into it a bit with their first wave of Disney Ultimates, but to mix things up, they did Prince John instead of the fox. Wave 2's been out for a while now, and with that we got the hero of Nottingham. The box is the usual Ultimates packaging, albeit wider than usual because of all the accessories this guy comes with. The graphics on both the slip cover and main box are very nice, and there's a bio of the character on the back like usual. It's very easy to open up as well, with only a few bits of tape and a tie to remove. By default, Robin has an open-mouth smiling portrait, and it looks very spot-on to the...[See More]
Pinocchio (Pinocchio)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 4.70 stars by RMaster007
“I’ve got no strings to hold me down…” While the tale of Pinocchio is probably as old as time itself, Disney’s take on the little wooden boy is the most well-known, for various (frightening) reasons. He’s also the third figure of Super7’s first wave of Disney Ultimates, rounding out the previous two I’ve reviewed. The packaging art is unique with each character, and Pinocchio’s box has a workshop look to it, as if it was made out of wood. The slipcover looks like a fancy window showcasing the starry night sky, and there’s a silhouette of Jiminy Cricket on it as well. Since Pinocchio is a small figure and he doesn’t have much big accessories, there’s only one plastic tray inside the box. Is it the first Ultimate with only one tray? I’m not too sure. Like with the other two figures,...[See More]
Prince John (Robinhood)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 4.80 stars by RMaster007
“Too late to be known as John the First, he’s sure to be known as John the worst; a pox on that phony king of England!” Super7 seemingly likes to balance the good with the bad, including both heroes and villains in their Thundercats and TMNT lines. So out of the three figures in their first wave of Disney Ultimates, only one of them is a villain: Prince John from Robin Hood. I assume they did him before Robin not just for variety, but because he’s a fan favorite. Like I said with Mickey, the packaging art is unique across all three figures in the wave, with a slipcover that’s colored gold and the window box itself being mostly colored purple. And yes, a character bio is included on the back. In short, same cues, different graphics. John’s sculpt has been changed the least from the...[See More]
Mickey Mouse (Sorcerer)
Disney (Super7) - Ultimates
Rated 4.85 stars by RMaster007
It took a while, but the magic has finally arrived! It was back in the summer of 2020 when Super7 announced that Disney would be joining their Ultimates line, and they were due for a 2021 release, but for reasons unknown, they got delayed. They eventually saw release around two months ago, thankfully, and they seem to be worth the wait. The first wave has three figures, including Mickey Mouse, of course. This Mickey is dressed in his Fantasia outfit, one of his most recognizable looks. The packaging is the same style as the TMNT Ultimates I’ve been reviewing, albeit smaller. The box graphics for each figure is based off what movie they came from, adding some uniqueness to the line. Beside that, we still have a slipcover over a window box with a character bio on the back. Mickey is...[See More]
