The sculpt is fine, but it inhibits some of the leg movement and the overall paintjob leaves much to be desired. Yazneg just looks like an old man not an orc and needs a repaint. He comes with an axe which is really cool looking but he carries a spear on the film so it seems odd he has this. It’s funny to think hazneg was the origicn design for Azog and how different Azog’s become and for the better. Tauriel

It’s better than Legolas, but still has its issues. Both Tauriel and Legolas have quivers that just plug into the figure without any indication of straps to hold them in place which makes it look odd, unlike Toybiz who did include these details. Even moulded onto the torso would be fine. Unfortunately for Tauriel I like Legolas she has nowhere to put her daggers so it’s constantly worrying one might lose them. Then there’s the no string on the bow situation, but at least it’s detailed nicely looking more realistic than the one Legolas comes with. Her daggers are fine but could do with more detail, but her face is what really stands out as it’s a terrible likeness, luckily Hasbro came out with a Wasp figure so you can do a head and hair swap to achieve Evangeline Lily’s likeness. It’s ok. If you want a Legolas figure that is wearing his introductorary costume I’d buy it otherwise stick with Toybiz. I think again these figures just show their flaws with a simple lack of overall detail, realism and scale issues. There’s some effort put into the torso and the boots but the arms are simplistic and lack articulation which is a must for a Legolas but when you can barely get him to pose in a firing stance you have an issue as well as his bow isn’t even strung so he isn’t firing anything anytime soon. His knives are just a bit too small but nicely painted but again Toybiz did a better job from the start with their first Legolas figure. Gandalf the Grey

My least favourite Gandalf figure and probably the worst hobbit series figure available. Essentially a brick because what is the point of having solid plastic robes and leg articulation beaneath that can’t be used. He’s way too short looks nothing like Ian Mckellen, Toybiz got it right ten years or more before and this one looks more like Michael gambon is anything. So I suppose you could get one and pretend it’s the dummy Gandalf Galadriel carries on screen as he was written on the cast call sheet as Michael gambon for a joke! This figures upper articulation is ok same as all the others, though due to the headsculpted hair he can’t move his head. Azog

Wow what a figure. It disappoints me that I’ve never seen a six inch scale Azog in basic packaging but if you do I’d still advise getting this one. Azog is huge appropriately so, in scale with Gothmog and other larger orcs and comes with a bunch of great accessories. Azog has his Mace, a sword which was used to decapitate Thror and possibly to cut the last of the seven rings off of Thrain, an interchangeable arm where you can have two normal arms or the left one with his riding/ claw prosthesis metal arm and last but certainly not least a spare interchangeable right hand holding the severed head of King Thror with gruesome detail. Thorin Oakenshield

This figure is also one of the only decent figures produced for the hobbit line. Thorin is taller than the average dwarf and standing next to a Gimli figure this is clear which in this case is good as Richard Armitage is taller than John Rhys Davis and so he’s in a good scale, I’d say perfect. I think some versions of this figure have a very good face sculpt and is instantly recognisable as Thorin, but some I’ve come across have bad paint apps or have weird eyes looking in an unidentifiable direction similar to some Aragorns so be careful to check if you’re buying online as this is an issue to some. He comes with a removable coat, his Dwarves Sword “Deathless” his iconic Oakenshield and of course Orcist the Goblin cleaver. All accessories are detailed nicely and have good paint...[See More]

Bilbo Baggins

Some of the bridge direct figures aren’t great but I think this one is pretty close to a good successor to the Toybiz line. I’m so glad that a six inch line was at the very least started as a lot of the figures co-exist very nicely with the Toybiz lotr line and this is one of them. Bilbo is the perfect height being in scale with the other hobbits from Lotr and has nice detail with a fairly good likeness to Martin Freeman and the paint apps are generally good. He comes with sting and 2 travelling bags and this is where we enter some issues. The bags are fine though not detailed if you look at the bottles which I believe in film are red and green and here are unpainted but more importantly this has got to be one of the worst sting swords ever made.
