Animaniacs (Super7) Reviews

RMaster007Just last week, Big Bad Toy Store suddenly discounted a ton of Super7 Ultimates across multiple licenses, ranging from TMNT to Power Rangers to Silverhawks. Figures that usually cost $55 became as low as $19. Now is definitely a good time to grab all those figures you've been holding out on, I have, including the last Animaniacs figure I needed.
As with the other figures, Yakko gets a solid plastic (I assume it's plastic) head, and the expression matches his siblings. It's okay, but the problem is that it's misshapen, appearing a bit wider than it should be. The head is also a little oversized in comparison to the body, bit more than how it was with Wakko and Dot. The alternate, open-mouth head looks nicer, but it too is a little too big. It also has a graduation cap, a little...[

RMaster007It's been a while since I got anything from Super7's Animaniacs Ultimates line, and considering how there's only five figures in the line, it shouldn't have taken me this long to complete the collection. Still, it's nice to finally add onto it with the younger Warner brother, Wakko.
Wakko gets an expression fitting for the character, with tilted eyes and tongue hanging out, and his head is a solid hunk of a soft, vinyl-like material. The paint on it is pretty decent, but there is some fuzziness where the white face meets the black far and eyes. He gets an alternate head with an "ooohh" expression, but this one is also wearing a gladiator helmet. Don't recognize it? It comes from the episode "The Big Candy Store," where he and his siblings show up riding on top of a bus like a chariot...[

RMaster007After reviewing the lab mouse duo in Super7's Animaniacs line, it was only natural that I move on to the main three: the Warner brothers and their sister. Crazy thing is, the sister was the only one left at Third Eye. They've been having a lot of sales recently, and that combined with the popularity of the license meant they went fast.
While Pinky and the Brain both shared motifs for their packaging, the Warner siblings all get unique designs. In Dot's case, her box has cotton candy stripes. It's pretty simplistic, but I think it fits with the license. There also isn't a lot of tape and plastic strips to worry about either. My one complaint is that the box is too darn big, and I feel it could've been made smaller, given how this isn't a large figure.
Dot's default head is an open-mouth...[

RMaster007As I've stated, you can't keep Pinky and the Brain apart, so I had to get the genius part of the pair next.
Befitting his name, the Brain has a really big head. Super7 managed to convert his appearance to three dimensions very well, with all the proper details. It's solid plastic as well, making it one heavy cranium. The head is the standard grumpy Brain look, but it can be swapped out for a more expressive head, with the right eye and mouth wide open. Looking at it, you can just hear Brain's trademark "Yes!". Both heads have consistent paint work, but suffer from uneven edges.
In contrast to Pinky's tall and slender build, the Brain is short and chubby. Standing around 4 1/2" inches, the proportions of the body fit with the head, and his tail, unlike Pinky's, isn't designed to lay on...[

PinkyAnimaniacs (Super7) - Ultimates

RMaster007Super7 has been starting the year off strong with the release of many long-awaited Ultimate lines, ranging from Simpsons to Power Ranger to Silverhawks, and many, including me, are glad to finally have them in-hand. Amongst these releases are Animaniacs, including both the Warner siblings and the lab mouse duo: Pinky and the Brain. Since I love those two more, I figured I'd start with them, namely Pinky.
The packaging is the same as all Ultimates, being a trapezoidal box with a slip cover. The cover is very simple, sporting the logo with characters on the front and nothing on the back. The main box has a pattern resembling the mice's cage, with the window looking as if it's tearing through. The back is also simple, with a picture and name of the character and nothing more. As usual, the...[
