DeaditorThere’s not too much to come to on about this figure other than it’s just Toybiz going above and beyond making every character possible. Theodred appears in 4 scenes, one where Eomer finds him, one where he’s being tended to and then his death and funeral, so he’s not exactly one for the kids to have an action packed fighting figure. Interestingnly there is an obvious hole in his armour where his wound is so that’s attention to detail and he comes with a removable helmet and his sword. He’s super articulated and nicely detailed and one for the collector completionists to get....[

DeaditorIt’s almost perfect but hat headsculpt.... what did they do to you Gamling. You can tell it’s him but it’s the most strikingly non human looking headsculpt almost skeletal, I’m not sure why it’s just really off. Everything else is fine and he comes with a decent vinyl cloak that isn’t anoying like the Rohirrim soldiers ones as those stop you from putting a figure onto a horse. He has his sword and that’s about it, well articulated and well detailed just a bit of an off putting headsculpt....[

Frodo (Super Poseable)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 3

DeaditorThis figure boasts the super poseable but compared to other super articulated figures it misses some crucial points, takes some other aspects too far and overall the figure suffers for it. What I mean is the figure has A head that can move 360 and look up and down a bit, arms that can hinge outward and rotate, then double hinges elbows but no swivel at the upper arm. The hands rotate and have some movement but this just makes holding the sword impossible. There’s hip rotation, hinges legs that go forward and outwards, a leg swivel and hinges knees but when we get to the foot the toes did not need to be articulate as they look freaky, the swivel shin and hinge at the ankle are fine but his entire foot and calves seem too small. There’s some detailing present like the ring being moulded...[

Sam (Mount Doom, Electronic Base)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 5

DeaditorI think this is a really good rendition of a weary Sam, with high detail, super articulation and a really decent stun sword. He comes with a base that says 2 phrases: “I can’t carry it for you but I can carry you” and “ throw it in the fire” and it’s designed like the mount doom foothold. Defiantly worth getting!...[

DeaditorI like the figure but an issue is some of the scale in regards to the head being a bit small and the waist being a bit big. That and the one ring detailing is awful being moulded into the figure it looks like a medal. This was a perfect opportunity to have a ring on a metal chain and some red detailing on the figures neck to show the burden of the one ring. It’s well articulated and the dirtying detail is done nicely. These mount doom figures are very cool and worth having, I just find there’s a few issues....[

Minas Trith Citadel GuardLord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 4

DeaditorIt looks the part but has a few issues. First of all the plastic cloak which is cumbersome prevents movement and being part of the oauldrons those are inhibited too. Secondly the lack of a face mask considering all the citadel guards wore them there’s a lack of one here. Lastly there’s variants with brown spears and black spears but I feel black looks better as I believe they were in the film. Apart from that it looks decent and is worth getting but you’re not going to get many poses out of this figure....[

Gorbag (with Webbed Frodo)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 4

DeaditorSo it’s super articulated, has appropriate accessories minus a whip for gaming Shelob and well detailed but the paint job is so wrong. Gorbag has a much lighter green skin tone with white markings on his face and blue eyes, which if you paint over this figure he looks perfect, so it is fixable, but the second problem is the choice of the plastic used for the straps on the figure as they tend to snap. A softer rubbery plastic or vinyl would have been better as it inhibits then articulation or breaks in places. Apart from this he comes with a sword his dagger which fits into a back sheath and Frodo all Webbed up which is a great accessory just not quite right in shape and painting pattern compared to how it is on screen....[

Frodo (Shelob Attack)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 4

DeaditorI thibk there’s some good aspect for this figure and some bad ones. I like the unique figure and I love the light up light of earendil idea but it adds to some of the figures problems. The fact that there is a light up feature means that the arm has to be as high as possible for it to activate and I’m always concerned it might break and the fact that the hand is the same piece as the Phail means you can see through the hand so it needs a repaint there. The right hand should have been empty as Frodo loses sting during his encounter with Shelob so for whatever reason he comes with an oversized sword stuck in his hand. It reminds me of the light up sting figure and therefore as that ones empty arm was articulated this one could have been also. The cloak is fine as it has that web detailing...[

Denethor (Steward of Gondor)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 4

DeaditorIt looks the part, it’s articulated and comes with all the accessories you’d want, but once again those massive vinyl plastic robes get in the way. If any figure is coated in robes then need to be softgoods or the articulation boasted becomes pointless. The figures detail is great with a very decent likeness to John Noble’s character and he comes with his steward sceptre, sword and Boromir’s split horn which is finicky as it folds open with a hinge but gets the job done....[
