War Machine
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Iron Man 3
Rated 4.20 stars by kingdiegond
Iron Man III is a terrible movie, but was what give us more action figures! Tons of versions of armours for Iron Man, and even for War Machine. This Mark II War Machine does not apear in the movie (it appeared as the Iron Patriot suit, with different colours). The Mark II WM is somekind 'bland', even more comparing to the Mark I (of the Iron Man II movie) who had a lot of weapons and where much more imposing. The figure made by Diamond Select is a true translation of the design of War Machine. It has a secondary head sculpt showing the features of Don Cheadle. The paint is fine, but not great. Is a bit opaque. Even so, it has the effect of a metal armour. The wrinten details are also well made. The articulations works fine, altough the shoulder pads restrict the range of the arms and...[See More]
Captain America
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Captain America - The First Avenger
Rated 4.40 stars by kingdiegond
Captain America: The First Avenger may have divided opinions, but one thing is right: the suit made for Captain America is awesome! It took the classic look of the character and insert in a world plagued by the WWII, using realistic elements. Diamond Select could translated it into plastic very well. This Marvel Select Cap has a highly detailed sculpt. The head bears a slight remembrance of Chris Evans with the mask (in this case, is more of a helmet). All we see in the movie is here: the texture of the fabric of military clothes and leather, the buckles and pins, the pouches, etc. The figure is well painted. Some washes give it an effect of 'worn' suit. The white parts are somewhat 'dirty', adding realism to the figure. The pallet of colours is the closest possible to the movie,...[See More]
Loki
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Thor - The Mighty Avenger
Rated 4.75 stars by Dr.Zom
First off, i must say this is an amazing figure! The sculpt of the entire piece is spot on to Tom Hiddleston in costume in both Thor and Marvel's The Avengers films. The paint apps on this figure are also very detailed. The gold colors really shine with nice dark accents. The accessories are sweet too; Loki comes with Heimdall's sword and the fixture to the Bifrost (the other part of the base comes with Thor) and also Odin's spear. Even the articulation on this one rocks! His head moves up and down and side to side, he has a diaphragm joint, hinged shoulders and ball-jointed hips, double jointed knees, elbow joint swivel and rotation, rotation at the wrists, legs and ankles and not ankle pivots but at least disc joints. Although he does stand a bit tall for your Marvel Legends at...[See More]
Rhino
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Basic Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Black Arbor
A very well done figure, with a few minor nits. For starters, this Rhino figure is BIG. Like, 9 inches big, so he may not perfectly be in scale with Marvel Legends, but I personally don't mind. His sculpt is chock full of detail, such as the many folds and bumps on his costume, and they even put the second set of rhino eyes on his hood that some people find silly. His articulation above the waist is very good, with a ball joint at the base of his neck, ball jointed shoulders and elbows, swivel wrists, and a ball jointed abdomen. Below the waist however, he has ball jointed hips (the peg connecting the leg to the torso goes straight up into the torso)and they are very restricted. he also has ball jointed knees, which are, again, fairly limited, along with the new ankle rockers that have a...[See More]
Doctor Doom
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Basic Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Carnage99
Okay, this is Dr. Doom were talking about here. GREAT FIGURE!!! Just got him yesterday, and I LOVE HIM!!! I WOULD give him a definite 5 stars, because, with Marvel Select, it doesn't get much better in detail, and usually articulation, too! But anyways, there's only one flaw. He comes with a total BEAST throne, and a cool goblet with some wine in it. He sits fairly good in the chair, except his feet aren't on the top step, because it's too short. I'm not sure he was suppossed to sit in it, but I like it when he does, the reason he is 4.5 stars, is because you have to take his cape off for him to sit in it, and he look funny without it. Also, the flags are thin pieces of cardboard, but it's still nice looking. It took me a LOOONG time to figure out how to attach the eagle, because it was...[See More]

This figure is AMAZING!! The best hawkeye figure out there! Marvel select usually makes figured that look good and have horrible actulation or they have a bad looking figure with great actulation! This one is perfect! It has great actulation and it looks really good! I got this for Christmas from my brother! I recommend this for any marvel fan! It is AWESOME! The face is brilliant I love the bow and arrow! Marvel Select really made an awesome figure! -Dr. Snorable...[See More]
Anti-Venom
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Basic Series
Rated 3.00 stars by Dr. Snorable
This figure is cool but it's is very bad in some ways..... Like its spikes (they are so sharp)and most of all the actulation!!! The actulation is horrible! The arms twist but the joints are really tight! To me I think the worst thing about this figure is the spikes This figure is very expensive it usually costs $100 or $60 But my aunt got me this figure for something like $30! I have this for display on my shelf though.... but I really like the base it's sooooo detailed! I recommend this figure to anyone if they see it under $40 -Dr. Snorable...[See More]
Hulk
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Avengers Movie
Rated 4.00 stars by pulpyfiction
What can I say, this is the best Marvel Select Hulk to date! From the amount and style of articulation to the solid paintwork, it's so much better than its predecessors. Although it's the best Marvel Select Hulk, how does it stack up to it's movie likeness? Fair, but not great. Articulation -4.5 18 Points. The most to date, before that, 10 from the M.S. Green and Red Hulks. Ball joints for shoulder to arms, and also feet to ankle like that of the Colossus and Juggernaut, giving a great range of movement. The hips have gone to a DC universe style swivel and hinge. Which actually the M.S. Ultimate Grey Hulk had. He has a slide swivel in the center of the chest to give it a left to right slide, and front to back turn. However I would have rather seen this joint type or a swivel at the...[See More]
Thor
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Thor - The Mighty Avenger
Rated 2.50 stars by pulpyfiction
Marvel Select, always a double edge sword. They either look great, and have horrible articulation, or they have good articulation and look like crap. I don't feel that they can blend the best of both words for the most part. Yes, there are some exceptions to the rules, but I'm generalizing. Anyway, I'm looking at the Marvel Select Movie Thor. I've added some photos of the toy, as well as Chris Chris Hemsworth in the costume. I think they nailed his look. I love how this figure looks. The Hammer is great looking, and the paints help the overall look too. But that's it, that's where my love of this figure ends. All that glitters is not gold. This figure would be good as a statue if it could properly stand, making it a great looking paper weight! I was worried about this just being...[See More]

You are right about the figure and that it doesn't stand well at all! First time I put him on my shelf with the rest of my Thor figures thinking I had him standing nice and strait and next thing you know he falls and knocks all the rest of the figures with him! What I notice you have to do is position his feet slightly down and have him leaning back a little and using the cape as a stand. But I have to say I do love the sculpt of the figure! Great review!

I was going to talk about the cape but I was worried, I might be going on too much. Don't you think the cape is part of the problem too, like it's just too long? I think that's why it works as an anchor so well, but it doesn't help if you try to drape it right at the back of his feet. Like you're mentioning stevid, I think it only works if you drag it back and use it to hold the weight of the figure.
Good idea on the feet placement. That seems to be the only possible way to get it to stand for any time at all. Mine just won't even really stand unless he's pegged down on a stand. I've had some issues like yours where he's jumped and taken everyone around with him, only instead of a group of Thors, he took down my marvel movie avengers both actual released figures and custom! Argh!
Ultimate Venom
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Basic Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Hypester79
This is a great figure. The texture and sculpting is superb and for the most part, so is the paint job. There can be some smearing or poor paint on the white spider symbol (especially on the back), but this is hard to see with the blister packaging. The figure is not terribly articulated, but it can be posed very well. The sculpt catches a real sense of motion both from Venom and the tendrils. There is an Ultimate Peter Parker figure web to a lab wall along with a plastic vile representing the "venom" suit fluid from the Ultimate Comics....[See More]
