Scorpion Gunship
Avatar (Mattel) - Vehicles

This thing feels like an 80s GI Joe vehicle. It comes needed to be assembled but is pretty easy other than you have to watch how the engines are facing or they'll be on backwards. The vehicle comes with 2 missile pods for under the wings, one of each pod is a really lamely made launch-able missile that looks nothing like the rest and stands out like a sore thumb so fixing that is probably easy with some work. The entire toy is molded in the same bland and not quite right olive drab as the Amp suit and shows no signs of blemishes from the plastic mixture being wrong, by this I mean the swirls you sometimes see where the colors weren't mixed when they were pumped into the mold. The cockpit is devoid of any detail like the suit and can easily be added to assuming you can find pics from the...[See More]

Having found this on markdown right after the holidays I decided to get it despite having no other figures in the series. The entire machine is molded in an inaccurate olive drab color with the clear canopy being the only other color. Sadly a lot of small details from the movie figure that they could have added weren't from panel lines and decals/paint applications to a cockpit that has no sign of any detail at all which puts it way under GI joe vehicles. The figure is very pose-able though with the arms moving backwards in slots like a human shoulder preparing to throw a punch as well as the standard up down motion, the elbows move as do the wrists, knees, hips, waist, and feet. Some articulated fingers would have been a cool addition. The figure comes assembled and the only real issue I...[See More]

Let me begin by saying that Avatar was not my favorite movie of the year, though I did enjoy it, I promise to not be biased or anything. Though I have to admit Quaritch became my favorite character because the movie drug on so long that I wanted to set everything on fire in that forest too. Articulation: Well in comparison to most figures recently I have to admit his articulation is great. Certainly not anything like an old Marvel Legends figure, but he has his done very well. Shoulders, elbows, hips, knees; they all feature 2 different movement styles in those areas. The articulation is done well for how few points there only seem to be while he's in package. Sculpt: It's great as well. Though the outfit that he wears as the figure only made a single scene appearance in the movie the...[See More]
