SilverHawks (Super7) Reviews
Quicksilver
SilverHawks (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 4.20 stars by RMaster007
I haven't been getting Super7's Silverhawks figures a lot, but it's actually good that I've held off a bit on them, since I've been able to get all but one of the ones I have for great discounts. Recently, I managed to score the last figure of wave one for cheap at $30, and it's the one I needed most: Quicksilver, the leader of the good guys. Like the rest of his team, Quicksilver is almost completely covered in metal, save for his right forearm and face. The helmet looks a bit like a faux hairdo, slicked up in the back. His actual hair, which I'm unsure if it was shaved off or not when he became a cyborg, was more patted down, as opposed to the anime hero-like metal "hair". The likenesses are one of the strongest attributes of the line, and Quicksilver looks dead-on to the show. He...[See More]
Bluegrass
SilverHawks (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 4.35 stars by RMaster007
Sure, he may be partly metal, partly real, but Bluegrass still acts like a man from a much earlier time. A cowboy who seemingly traveled into the future, he doesn't need fancy cybernetic wings or shoulder lasers; all he needs is his lasso and a guitar. A guitar that shoots lasers. Bluegrass, like the other figures in this line, has a very accurate head sculpt. Four Horsemen was involved in the sculpting of these, but neither they nor Super7 bothered to credit who actually did this guy. He has his cowboy hat on, and it can be removed to reveal a mohawk underneath. Makes you wonder if he had one to begin with or if it was just part of the armor. He comes with three head sculpts: one neutral, one smirking, and one winking/grinning. They look great and swap easily, with very clean work on...[See More]
Steelheart
SilverHawks (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 3.75 stars by RMaster007
The first Super7 Silverhawks figure I got was Steelwill, my favorite of the heroes (well, next to Bluegrass), so it's only fitting the next good guy I get is his sister Steelheart. But to be honest, I only got her now because I was able to get her for pretty cheap. Thank you, Entertainment Earth, for also knowing Super7's stuff is overpriced. Steelheart has a great likeness, demonstrating that Super7 is better at doing realistic cartoon designs than real people. The face is accurate, and the eyes are very clean (they're probably printed on rather than painted), but her eyebrows should be a little thicker. The metal covering the rest of her hair is interesting, as it looks like hair. Either there is hair underneath, or she wanted to keep her style even after becoming a cyborg. She comes...[See More]
Buzz-Saw
SilverHawks (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 4.65 stars by RMaster007
While the Silverhawks being a band of flying cyborgs is pretty neat, I will admit I find the Mob, the main villains of the show, much cooler. The variety of characters, unique designs, and personalities make them more enjoyable to watch than the good guys. One that stands out is Buzz-Saw, a giant robot who's equipped with various buzzsaws, hence the name. Buzz-Saw has one of the least complex designs in the show, due to his simple colors and shapes. The head manages to make him look quite menacing, though, with jagged mouth, blank yellow eyes (a lighter shade than the yellow used for his body), and of course, a saw blade on top of his head. In addition to his default portrait, he gets two other heads, one with an open mouth, and another with the blade designed as if it's spinning....[See More]
Mon*Star (Red)
SilverHawks (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 4.15 stars by RMaster007
Having been created following the success of Thundercats, it's worth noting Silverhawks took cues from it. A group of semi-humans going up against a group of funky villain designs, including a leader that can transform into a stronger version of himself. Unlike Mumm-Ra, though, Mon*Star looked pretty strong pre-transformation, but his bulked-up form is a true beast. While the Hawks have a blue box, the Mob gets a red one. It's pretty shiny, and gets Mon*Star's face on the front, and other than that, it's not too much different from the good guys. There's some tape and ties to get rid of, but it shouldn't be too hard. Oh, one more thing about the box: it's huge, and that's because the figure itself is huge. Mon*Star stands about 11" tall up to the tip of the spike on the top of his head,...[See More]
Steelwill
SilverHawks (Super7) - Ultimate
Rated 4.10 stars by RMaster007
Like me, you've probably never heard of Silverhawks until Super7 announced they got the license. I wasn't too enticed at first, but I got interested in the designs, and checked out the show; it's pretty good. A little over a year later, we finally saw the release of the line: with wave two coming before wave one. Super7 really can't get their release windows straight, can they? We all know the usual Ultimates packaging - a trapezoidal box with slip cover. The slip cover is simple, with the Silverhawks emblem on the front of a shiny silver color. The box underneath is a starry blue, with the back having an illustration of the character and a bio. The only thing needed to remove from the plastic tray is a tie holding in the figure, and everything's easy to get out. Steelwill's face has...[See More]
