As a toy collector, you often find yourself asking, "Do I really want to pay that much for this?" Sometimes you're willing to pay the price, other times you'll want to hold out for a better deal. And it's not just new figures I'm talking about; it's older lines and releases that nowadays tend to go for twice as much as they cost originally. Case in point, look at ReSaurus' Sonic Adventure line. The figures look nice, but the high value they have has made me hold off on them. Recently, I found a Tails new in box going for a good deal (albeit still a bit over $100 total) on eBay, and decided "Hey, why not? It's not like I'll find any of these for that low again." ReSaurus was a short lived toy company and began in the 90s, and shut down in 2001. Some of their licenses included Jeff Smith's Bone, Speed Racer, Street Fighter, Sonic Adventure, and Crash Bandicoot, and the latter two licenses can go for high prices on eBay and othe online stores. Years ago, I was lucky to find this figure, who in this case, is Big the Cat from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I got him loose, so I won't being doing a score for the package. Sculpt - ***1/2 The sculpt is very good, especially if you compare it to Toy Island's Big the Cat. Most of the body is plastic, but the head and tail are made of a softer, vinyl-like material. Skiing Sonic. Why did they bother? Sonic has NEVER skiied. Not even once, as far as I know, in any game. Yet...here he is. Sonic SNOWBOARDS. They should pay some attention. But it doesn't stop the figure from being awesome (More Durable then the Original). And the eyes aren't as large. But it is not as thin as the first one. Tails! His wrists can be pivoted so you can pose his hands. His bangs are made of soft rubber so they can't break. They joined the head together in his ears, which was clever, and saves him from the Toy Island fate of having a jillion screws all over the place. Despite his flat feet, he can still have a decent range of standing up type poses because his tails act like a '3rd leg' depending on how you rotate them. Here is their Sonic the Hedgehog. The iris/pupils are a bit large, and his body is very slim/long but Sonic is thin in the games anyway . His shoes are bent upward permenantly, making him somewhat difficult to stand, without the use of his base. There are two versions of this figure.
