WaspinatorTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Been meaning to do a review of this guy for the longest time. Waspinator was one of my favorite characters from Beast Wars and when he appeared in Transformers Animated I was really excited and when we got the toy after so painfully long in my area I was even more hyped. Unfortunately, he doesn't really live up to it.
Waspinator transformers into a green and black technorganic wasp. Admitedly, his Beast Mode is more developed than Blackarachnia but it has some problems. His robot mode arms slipt apart to form his beast mode front legs. The way they connect at the wrist makes it rather annoying or difficult to get the seperated.
His forlegs are blocked by the edge of his wasp head at the shoulder joints and the connection between the bipart limbs is really weak and they can pop apart...[

Optimus PrimeTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Voyager Class

Collector1I missed my chance to pick him and a few others up when they first came out by my Wal-Mart apparently found a hand full of them in the back I guess and put them out for sale. Not on clearance mind you, but at full price. Still, I picked up Optimus and Starscream because this would probably be my last chance to grab them under fifty bucks of the web. So, Optimus Prime is a good, solid toy with only some minor faults.
His vehicle mode is a truck cab of no really make or model. In the show, he has a number of trailers used to further the disguise but the most common is that of a fire engine. Still, it's a very vague form so it can be assumed it's a multi-purpose hauler. The back end of the vehicle mode is made up of a combined form of his axe and water gun that looks kind of odd but not...[

Autobot JazzTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1What can be said of the character of Jazz other than he kicks much skidplate. He's a jive talking, alien, robot, ninja, sports car. That it like...twelve different kinds of awesome right there! Jazz is the counterbalance to Sentinal Prime's ego, organophobia and specisim with his own laid back attitude and love affair with Earth culture.
Jazz has got a great car mode that's a fun update from his original G1 mode. The paint is minimal but well done with not run overs or smears. It's all relatively seamless and a tricky transformation is a great bonus. The only real hard part of it is getting it started with pulling the roof and rear end backwards and up but it goes much smoother from there. The roof and rear become his legs, the front becomes his chest with the head popping up from the...[

Autobo RatchetTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Ratchet here was part of the second wave of Animated Deluxes and a pegwarmer in my area that never really appealed to me until recently when he became one of the best characters on the show in my opinion. So I grabbed him and was pleasantly surprised by his over all quality. Not the best toy in the line, but far from the worst. Like most deluxes from Animated, his transformation is simple but fun. He's got a surprisingly good amount of detail work on his body with the only real missing paint is from his head which I can just paint easily with some black on his cheeks and under his eyes.
The head is probably my favorite of the Animated line so far. His face clearly depicts a bot long in the tooth that has seen far more violence and bloodshed then anyone should have to. Scars cover his...[

Autobo RatchetTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

tr1gunAutobot Ratchet is a good figure, not a great figure, but a good figure.
The Pro's: he is a nice size figure, he has many different tools that he can use, and has nice light piping.
The con's: he has mis-matched paint(different shades of red), on my figure his light piping pops out when his head pops up, I do not know if this is an isolated problem or not; his size while large for a deluxe, being an ambulance, he really should be a voyager.
Articulation: His head can rotate 360', his arms rotate 360' at the shoulder(they are ratchet joints, not ball joints) his arm bends at the elbow as well as rotates 360' at the elbow, he has no wrist articulation, his fingers can open and close, he has no waist articulation, his legs can move forward and slightly back, he has no foot...[

Optimus Prime (Cybertron Mode)Transformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1I missed this guy on almost every oportunity that presented itself and when I finally wanted him, he was sold out! On a trip out of town, I found him amongst a pile of other first wave shelfwarmers and picked him up. As expected, it's a truly fine toy that suffers from the main flaw of most early Animated action figures: sloppy and sticky paint. On the limbs, paint is not the issue, but on the torso. The windsheild chest has the edge and sides of it painted red, but it is either too thick or too thin in places and on the right, well I guess the closest it could come to human anatimy, pectoral looks like either a spill of silver paint or red paint stratched away to show silver plastic, though I'm putting my money on the former. These are easily fixed, but still pain and shows off the poor...[

ShockwaveTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Voyager Class
Rated

Collector1Cold, logical, and ruthless, Shockwave is the ultimate Decepticon spy and the ultimate Voyager Class toy. With four destinct modes and a fun and complex transformation, Shockwave is one of the best Animated toys I have yet to own. The Decepticon spy can transform into a Cybertronian crane, tank, and his Autobot disguise of Longarm Prime and his true form as the tall, powerful Shockwave. The vehicle modes are fairly similair, with the crane mearly being the tank mode with the treads arced up and the cannon folded down so the arm can extend. The real tresuar is the two robot modes. Both of them are very distinct and truly look like sperarate action figures. Longarm Prime is much shorter than Shockwave, with a stockier frame and his vechile modes crane hanging off his back. Shockwave on the...[

BlurrTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Styled after the second fastest fictional car, the Mach 5 of Speed Racer fame, Blurr as been revived as the super speeder (and talker) of the Autobot ranks. The minute I saw the first test shots of Blurr, I knew that I would have him even if I had to sluaghter all who got in my way. Which it turned out were a lot of people. And cops. After a long trial, I got off on a technicality and finally popped this sucker open. This is perhaps the best Animated Deluxe figure I have come across. Unlike other transformers, there is no jaring transition between the color of parts and switches, allowing it to come together seamlessly and disguising the button on the hood quite well. The primary colors used for Blurr are a light blue, a shade of blue-green I think, and a dark blue for the sides and hood....[

Sentinel PrimeTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Color me impressed. I had never intended to purchase Sentinel Prime but finally broke down and was amazed at this guy. I popped him out and transformed him for the first time and was blown away at how smooth and natural the transformation was. The top slid back and formed his legs and the front became his back with his doors and tires becoming his arms and shoulders respectivly. The body is huge and intimidating with the head a stunning recreation of the Animation Model, astroroid sized chin and a disgusted grimace at being handled by an organic like your's truly. Much of the paint application for the head is already done, but a few touchs are need to complete the toy and bring out all the detail. Sentinal's lance and sheild are stored on top of his roof in vehicle mode and are held very...[

SnarlTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe
Rated
2.00 stars by
Collector1I got Snarl only out of the sake of completing the Dinobot set and nothing more. Snarl transforms into a Triceratops with very little articulation in that mode. The transformation from beast mode to robot mode is simple, but needlessly frustrating with the instructions not giving very clear directions on rearraging the beast modes head and repositioning it. The nubs that hook his large shoulders into his main body are not alined well and the hip clasps don't connect at all, leaving him with a very loose and unweildly waist. The pop out flame gimmick in his shoulders in pathetic and adds nothing to the toy over all.
Though Snarl has his good points. The toy does well in mixing Slag and Snarl into a new form. The tail becoming to wings like constructs on his back is reminicent of the...[
