Oil SlickTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Got this guy today along with Prowl and Bumblebee. I had been looking for this guy for some time and found a nice stockpile at WalMart along with a bunch of Sentinal Prime's which I'm not sure I'll buy or not. Oil Slick is prehaps the most Metal of all Transformers with a freakin' ram's skull on the front of his vehicle mode which is a quad-wheeled low riding chopper. The chopper is very loosly based on the Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle which is really freaking fast, so we can guess that Oil Slick is one of the fastest landed based Transformers yet.
The transformation isn't difficult so much as it annoying with the back wheel on mine just not wanting to click together. The two barrels can be attachted to fold out wings on his side. One can be opened up to hold water, dirt and other such...[

BumblebeeTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Fun fact time! The Transformers Animated version of Bumblebee was originally meant to be Hot Shot, but after the breakout popularity of the movie Bumblebee, the name was changed accordingly. I got this guy the same time as Prowl and Oil Slick and was fairly impressed. I already new that the stingers couldn't be folded all the way into his forarms, but didn't now that the car roof on his chest is actually fake with the true roof turning into the back of his legs!
Bumblebee has great articulation and a nice head sculpt that looks like the animation model. The eyes have light pipping done, the same with the stingers and the rocket boosters. The transformation sequence is tricky and fun, but difficult to kick off because of the side panel's that need to be moved up are stuck tight. Another...[

ProwlTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1I hadn't planned on getting Prowl because of the soon to be released Samurai Armor Prowl, but found out that they would alter the sculpt, so I figured I should get both. I was very impressed with the over all design of Prowl. His robot mode is tall and sleek and capable of being put in a number of great poses. The ball-jointed hips are a little loose, but that can be fixed by using some superglue on the balls and letting it cure.
Prowl has three weapons over all, two mecha shurikens which are made from his hub caps and a traffic light on a cloth cord, all of which can be held in the robo-ninja's hands. The shurikens are a little difficult to remove from the wheels, but with a little work, they should loosen up. The traffic light can not be stored anywhere, so keep an eye on it so you...[

BlitzwingTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Voyager Class

Collector1Blitzwing is the first triplechanger of the Animated toyline is a homage to the Generation One character of the same name. Blitzwing has two vehicle modes, and three different faces for robot mode, making him a hextuple(?) changer if you want to get picky. His first vehicle mode is a jet with tracks on the bottom and his second vehicle mode is a boxy tank with dual turrets. What is amazing is how such a large toy can be compressed into such a small form as the tank which can fit into the palm of my hand with no trouble. Another kicker is that the jet modes wings fold over the front of the tank mode to make armor which is just cool in my opinion.
The transformation between the three modes is a bit a pain because the instructions don't really give you the small details needed for a...[

ShockwaveTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Voyager Class

grimlockprime108Shockwave is a legendary nom de plume among the transformers. Now it has been revitalized in true grandiose fashion for Hasbro.
The Transformers Animated version of the character keeps the trademark monocular head and gives him a new twist. He is now a Decepticon spy with the ability to change an Autobot security officer named Longarm Prime. This is accomplished thru the clever usage of various extendable double joints located on the figure and a rotating emblem symbol on his chest(Similar to Punch/Counterpunch).
Longarm Prime's robot mode is short and stocky in contrast to the lanky frame of Shockwave.Once again drawing up the differences between the two is Longarm has no weapon where as Shockwave wields a cannon that bears a striking resemblance to Battle Stars Megatron, maintaing the bots...[

SwoopTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1I have been searching far and wide for this pretty birdy and finally found one about a week ago and finally decided to write a review about him. Swoop is the thinnest of the Dinobots and transformers into a mechanical Pteranodon and fights using a massive ball and chain in his ninja-esque robot mode. Swoop has a great range of motion in both modes with flappable wings in beast mode as well as a hinged jaw and ball-hinge jointed legs.
Transforming Swoop is pretty much what I've come to expect from Pteranodon mechs but with a few new tricks. The only serious problem I've encountered in his transformation is clipping the wings to his robot mode back. The pegs don't really line up perfectly with the holes which is a little frustrating, but this can be fixed, so no big deal. But what does...[

Megatron (Cybertronian Mode)Transformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Voyager Class
Rated

Collector1A merciless warrior and strategic genius that seeks to free Cybertron from the tryanny and into the hands of...Decepticon tyranny. The irony is either lost on him. Megatron weild a massive fusion cannon that is actually just under an inch shorter than him! The cannon can also be converted into a bladed weapon of sorts but the automorph gimmick that works the red blades doesn't function very well because of two nubs on the side of the gun which should probably be taken off some how. The gun fires a spring loaded missle that gets about a foot in range. Usually.
The fusion cannon attaches to a hinge on his right arm, but because of the struts on the hinge, it won't fold flat against the arm and throws off his balance. This can be corrected by a combination of a demeral and X-actio knife to...[

BlackarachniaTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1In a world full of G1 refrences, Blackarachnia stands alone as a Beast Wars reference. Blackarachnia, formally the Elita-1 of the Animated Universe, is an odd character. One of the most powerful Cybertronians due to here mutated state, she wishes for nothing more than to be returned to her more "pure" technological origins.
Blackarachnia transforms into a massive techno-organic spider with a predominatly purple color scheme in both robot and best modes. The body takes notes from both the original Transmetals 2 Blackarachnia Beast Wars toy in the form of the helmet and from Beast Machines in which her spider-mode limbs transform into her arms and legs as well as the thorax becoming a massive, uh, postieror.
Having all the standard articulation for a Deluxe Class Animated Transformer,...[

SoundwaveTransformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe

Collector1Cold, logical, and without mercy for his former organic "masters", Soundwave stands proud among the Decepticon ranks! Soundwave uses a van altmode which resembles a custom Scion xB. His vehicle mode is about four and a half inches in length, so he can fit in the palm of your hand pretty easily. Molded from navy blue plastic with the detailing done with blue-green paint.
The front windshield and driver and passenger side windows are made of dark black or blue translucent plastic, though it is more difficult to tell with the driver and passenger side windows than with the back and windshield. The Decepticon symbol is painted on the right side of his hood in bronze. The wheels are pretty standard fair for car mode Transformers.
Unlike Grimlock, Soundwave's transformation is rather...[

Henchmen4HireThis thing looks like a cross between Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, Brainiac, a ninja, and Satan thrown-in for good measure, obviously this is an instant must buy because you will never see something this cool ever again. This figure looks poisonous, it's like those creepy little frogs in neon colors that dare you to touch them, you know you'll die but you just can't resist! Apparently Oil Slick is a top-notch mechanic and chemist, and trained in "Circuit-Su" with Prowl. CIRCUIT-SU! AWESOME! He makes a kind of fear-toxin that brings-out the greatest fears in
robots...okay, lol, it's also a powerful acid that dissolves vital components, so I guess you can throw Scarecrow into that list I gave, also Cacturne, look it up, it's creepy as hell. So anyway, this TF looks cool in either mode....[
