Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen Reviews
Sideways
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by DTM
I got Sideways and Sideswipe this the first day they were released at TRU. I liked the whole look of the line, but I had the need for speed, so I got the two Sports Cars. Sideways is an Audi R8, but lacks any Audi symbols on the car, partly because of trademarks. It has a dark gunmetal grey on him with reddish, pinkish windows. Overall the color scheme seems menacing enough. There is also a black Decepticon symbol on the back of the car. If you look underneath, there are some exposed robot parts, but it's a transformer, most of them have revealed robot parts in alt mode. Another thing to notice is it's missing the black stripe seen in the movies, nothing a customizer can't fix... His transformation is pretty good. Not your normal fold out transformation, you actually get involved. They...[See More]

I did not find Jolt to be a very interesting figure. I believe it is almost impossible to transform him. Furthermore he is neither detailed nor realistic whatsoever....[See More]

Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 5.00 stars by ramjet
Although the paint job isn't the best, breakaway may have one of the best transformations and robot modes of wave 2 or 1 of the transformers movies. Overall this is a great figure, my favorite of rotf....[See More]
Rampage
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 2.00 stars by ramjet
Although rampage has a pretty cool vehicle mode, he has a very slow transformation and falls apart extremely easily. furthermore in robot mode he does not look anything like the movie, and is like 2007 movie leader class prime, carrying a large amount of weight on his back...[See More]
Barricade (Interrogator)
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
Had some spare cash Thursday, shocking I know, and picked this guy up. Barricade is just a rerelease of the original mold for the character from the first movie. I would have prefered the Premium version of the mold that had frosted windows but I'll take what I can get. In place of a Frenzy minifigure from the original release, the gril can now be changed into the probes seen when Barricade attacked Sam. Simply lowering the front fender will cause the gril to be pushed out and can be removed. The probes are folded up behind the gril thanks to a double hinge on the side and a hinge in the middle of the arms. There is also a swivel joint were the arms meet the connection point with the double hinge joint. Also, the probe heads have a swivel joint. The probe arms can be deployed in either...[See More]
Bumblebee
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
In the package he looks slightly deformed but after taking him out he unfolds a bit to look more normal. He is nice looking figure, has better articulation than the last movie figure he had, and looks good in car mode even though he seems to have a new hood. The sculpting is pretty good but for once I'd like to see more accessories on him such as the mask he has in the films that flips down. I had his arm cannon pop off while coming out of the package but it easily reattatches. This cannon is the only weapon featured on this version of him and fires an energy blast/missile. Transformation is annoying as with most TFs anymore and made worse by the fact that parts like to pop off of him if you don't get it quite right. While the pop-off parts is a nice feature when it comes to not breaking...[See More]
Megatron
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Leader Class
Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1
Having recently seen the Voyager class version of this figure I feel cheated. Much like the previous version of his leader class body this Megatron is low on articulation. The robot mode features some moving armor plates and a "I am Megatron" audio clip. The paint is rather bland and can stand to have some major reworking done to him. The tank mode is large and slightly awkward, being totally different looking than the Voyager version, and this mode too could use with some detailing work. I have to admit I mostly bought him for the tank mode as he is basically the same in robot mode aside from his arms, one of which is pathetically short and stubby. Having gotten him out of the package it is hard to believe he costs nearly as much as a Master Piece Transformer with half the details and...[See More]
Starscream
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Voyager Class
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Okay, this guy is a great toy straight up, no questions asked. Starscream transforms into a very accurate F-22 Raptor Fighter Jet covered in weird, Cybertronian Runes which makes up for his relatively bland body color. There is no firing missile gimmick in this mode and it's really a bare bones alt. mode which I really don't mind. I prefer minimal addition gimmicks, transforming being the preferred gimmick in fact. Starscream's transformation from fighter jet to robot is actually very complex and fun, but not overly hard. Breaking the mold from having most of his parts stuffed up under a jet plane's body, Starscream is similar to Transformers Animated Blurr, layer upon layer of robot mixed with a plane. There are a lot of subtle tricks to get a complete robot mode like two panels that...[See More]
Rampage
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 3.00 stars by Collector1
Got Rampage a few weeks ago when money was a bit more plentiful for me and seeing as how I'm down with a cough, figured I might as well pass the time with a few toy reviews. Rampage turns into a bulldozer, don't know what model as I'm not a construction vehicle buff, but I'm fairly certain it is indeed an actual model. It's really a wonderfully detailed figure. The drivers room is a block of translucent red plastic painted black which gives it some level of light pipping, something rarly seen in a toy's vehicle mode. The plow can be moved up and down some which uses the mech alive gimmick for the line with two pistons that will rise and fall in tune with the plow if a really finiky connector piece is in the proper place. The treads are made of actual rubber, but the wheels they are...[See More]
Sideways
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1
One of the first Decepticon cars I've seen in the new movie line he isn't really much to write home about. His design is a generic sports care design that would easily blend in on a busy street. The articulation is about average as is the sculpting of his head. What I found disturbing is he's the same generic silver as Sideswipe. I'm not sure why but like most of the new line he suffers from a case of being very bland and begs for a paintjob if not a customization. The lack of weapons also bothers me it seems like every Transformer these days has integrated weapons and the days of guns that are handheld are long behind us. The good side is the quality of the mold is good. Very little flash, and no swirls in the plastic from poor blending of colors during the injection molding process. The...[See More]
