X-Men Reviews
Sabretooth (Self Healing Wounds) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 2 Rated 2.00 stars by Collectar This is the earlier Sabretooth character action figure. This one also lacks the scaling compared to other action figures of this line. He is not big enough to be a Sabretooth. My point is clear I guess.
This figure came twice when I bought a action figure lot. One of them I want to customize to a Shi’ar Imperial Guard Fang. Yeah, I couldn’t find a Wolverine – Fang action figure.
The figure has a trigger on its back which changes the “plate” on the chest of the figure. It reminds me very very much of Battle Armor He-man. Did anyone else noticed this? Well, anyways. The accessory doesn’t make any sense. Any sense at all. I mean what is it? What does it do? Why not give him a chain or a piece of stone. darn it give him a door to throw with. But not this thing.
If you want the Marauders on...[See More]
One other important note of interest is HIS EYES GLOW IN THE DARK, automatically knocking his awesomeness up ten points
Nightcrawler (Super Suction) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.00 stars by Collectar I love the character and so am I very happy that an action figure was made for him. Just as any other action figure of this line, Nightcrawler lacks the scaling compared to other action figures of this line. The manufacturers designers made him to big for my opinion. Remember that he is shorter then Wolverine and is about the height of Jubilee.
The accessory, a sword, is nicely thought for I remember Nightcrawler wielding two swords in many occasions. Like in the game X-men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, in some super moves he uses two swords.
And that is exactly my next point. When you give him one sword, why not give him two?
O I remember, he has suction naps. The suction naps on his right knee and his left hand are very unnecessary and have been removed by me off of mine action...[See More]
According to Marvel's wiki, Nightcrawler is 5 feet 9 inches tall. Much taller than Wolverine and Jubilee. He's just shown crouching all the time so I can understand the confusion.
Magneto X-Men (Toy Biz) - Age of Apocalypse Rated 5.00 stars by Collectar This is probably the best magneto figure ever made. He looks awesome. The cape, the helmet, the coloring resembles the comic's age of apocalypse story line mageneto precisely. The cape should be bigger actually. For he is Magneto Rex. Catch my drift? The hair and other detail look very nice too.
His accessory is a metal hand. This is made out of transparent plastic so you must look very focused too see that magneto has made himself a metal glove. This glove fits on perfectly and makes the figure look even nicer.
When you look at the gloves, boots and collar, you can see how this adds to the overall detail of this action figure. This action figure made me buy others from this age of apocalypse line. I have nathan (X-man) which stands almost in perfect proportion with magneto. Then...[See More]
Mr. Sinister (Goatee) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 3 Rated 4.50 stars by necornaut So I got this figure a while a go but now it's finally time to review this guy. Mr. Sinister has the basic points of articulation that you'd expect from the usual old 5inch lines. One thing that separates this guy in my opinion is that his action feature doesn't take away from this figure. Usually the action feature such as the x-force deadpool with the knife took away from the figure. His light up feature actually looks really nice, both on and off. His eyes and jewel light up on him, which at night or in the dark gives him a spooky appearance. The one thing that is also nice about this figure is the removable cape. The cape is just one solid piece of plastic molded to look like the strips that usually make up his cape in the comics. The paint apps on this figure though aren't the best,...[See More]
It did somewhat frustrate me that his head has no articulation due to the wiring, and that his shoulder pads interfere with his arm movement if his cape is on But overall one of my favorites from the classic Toybiz line as well.
Onslaught X-Men (Toy Biz) - Onslaught Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael Wow, this guys pretty cool. SO I never read any comics with Onslaught, so I'm making it clear that I don't know the scale, so I cna't sya whether or not this guy is perfect. Anyway, I got this guy in a trade, and I love him. He has a good amount of articulation, though only really one or two decent poses he can pull off. The sculpt and paint are flawless, he even has Professor Xavier trapped in his back (I think he's being consumed by his own darkness or something, not sure). The snap on armor doesn't relaly do much, but since I have the BAF Onlsaught, I prefer to keep him in his first form anyway. The only complaint I have about this figure is the paint apps. I wish they would've used darker reds and purples, bright frilly pinkish purple and vibrant red aren't as imposing and menacing as...[See More]
Dope figure.I actually owned this figure twice. Once when it came out in the 90''s and a few years ago I found it at my local comic shops "toy bin" for 5 bucks
Magneto (Super Spark Action) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 2 Rated 5.00 stars by necornaut The master of magnetism, Magneto, by far my favorite villain of all time due to his greatness (doom has nothing on him). The figure itself is nicely done, by far better than the first release, although some would disagree. I like the idea of the helmet staying on him and the fact that he has a plastic cape that is removable so you can do his super spark action. The figure itself has the basic articulation that you would find on most x-men figures that you would find of this time period. Everything is sculpted on nicely, and the action feature is hidden by his cape unless you wish to remove it then there is a lever in his back which you pull up and down to get out the super spark. The paint on this figure varies mine was a little sloppy on chest, making him look like he had super play wear...[See More]
Q: What''s scarier than a Mutant Master of Magnetism? A: A Muntant Master of Magnetism..... WITH A GUN!
Archangel (White Wings) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by necornaut archangel, a mutant distorted and given metal wings to become of the horseman of death, that aside lets talk about the figure. I gave him a 4.5 because he's near perfect I wish I could go to the whole 4.75 but I mean that be nit picking. Anyway he's a good figure with a nice sculpt and fantastic wing style. I like the idea of having white wings because of the silver that they really are in the comics and how it looks really nice here, and they have the feature of flapping and you can kinda shoot a missile out of the top of them, not really necessary but still kinda cool. I want to talk about the sculpt of him next, I mean come on he is a top notch sculpting example with nice definition it definitely adds to the figure. It makes the figure feel better, I can't quite explain it but the...[See More]
Apocalypse (Extending Body) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 5.00 stars by necornaut Apocalypse, one of the baddest mutants of all time. I ranked him as a 5 because of his style resembling when he first appeared as a thinner taller mutant and later on he gets a bit more of a bulkier look. This one is a bit thinner but still yet looks as though he could kick some serious gluteus maximus. The figure itself comes with the ability to grow taller by extending the torso and the legs below the knee. It really doesn't make him that much taller, I mean he's a big guy so to begin with so no problem there. He comes with the usual tube-age coming out of the arms that you'd expect on an apocalypse figure. Overall sculpt on his is good, what you'd expect for the first apocalypse figure to come out, not super fantastic but good, the second edition really improved upon it making a more...[See More]
Sabretooth (Snarl & Swipe Action) X-Men (Toy Biz) - Series 5 Rated 4.50 stars by necornaut This is the second sabretooth released for the X-men line, personally I like this version better. This figure comes with a snarl and swipe action that is fun, his mouth opens when you squeeze his legs, and his arms move a bit. The figure itself in articulation is lacking and only has 4 POA, because of the action feature. Although he's not the most positionable figure he is still worth at least checking out. The paint on this figure is good, and he was in his current costume at the time, the all over style of this figure is worth getting over the first release. Although this is not his last release of the sabretooth figures this one is in my opinion the best. His sculpt on the costume I really liked, between the muscles, the detail in the fur, or how his hands are positioned. Overall I'd...[See More]
snap, thats nice, i want to get that union jack in the shop
Warstar X-Men (Toy Biz) - Phoenix Saga Rated 5.00 stars by King Kaiju God I loved this figure.
Sadly with this wave of figures Toybiz abandoned the personalized cards. Instead we just get a big picture of Wolverine.
Warstar is beautifully sculpted with plenty of metal like details all over his body. He isequally as painted with metallic green and yellow for his eye.
Though it says attack army on the card he has only one solid green plastic robot. His back slides open and you can place the little bugger in. There is a lever on his back to raise and lower the little robot. Each figure comes packed with a randomly packed in trading cards. I can't remember what card he came with but he came with one.
This figure is great and you don't have to know the character to enjoy him. I sure didn't. He makes a great robot for any game or display....[See More]
