X-Men - 2006 Series Reviews
Archangel
X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 4.50 stars by VariablePenguin
When I saw this figure in the store I thought, "That is the best Archangel figure I've ever seen." I wasn't wrong. The figure has a flawless paint job, which is saying a lot because his costume is very intricate. The figure has the higher standard articulation (hinged fingers!). If only they'd do this to all of those female figures... There are only a few problems. His fingers have some serious excess plastic that needs to be trimmed. His ears look like regular ears when they should be covered in his mask. And finally, the biggest problem: His stupid backpack wing launcher. This thing official changes his name from Angel to Bird. It has tail feather and is a bulk monstrosity. The "missiles" it launches aren't even going to hurt anyone! They're made of some sort of coiled papery...[See More]

Avalanche
X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz) - Series 3
Rated 3.50 stars by TMB
Xmen series 3 Avalanche. First off this figure stands almost 7" tall, if you count the individual finger movement this figure has 37 poa. The color of his outfit is pretty cool Dark blue with black and copper accents. The strange thing is the rock like helmet, gauntlets, knees and outer thighs. The face on this creep is pretty cool, he looks pretty mad about something (Probably his Shocker-esque vibro-base)Which brings me to his Shocker-esque vibro-base. This thing is strange, he has a huge holes in his feet that fit him onto the base (He'll need em). You wind this thing up and press a button on the base and it vibrates thanks in part to the freeky bristles on the bottom, YES I said bristles, just like you would see sitting on your sink to scrub your nails. It not only vibrates it shoots...[See More]

Bristles!? I''ll never buy a toothbrush again! Or a shower-scribber! ...wait, nevermind
So the base flys around like those robotic vaccum cleaners?
Wolverine (Stealth)
X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 2.50 stars by VariablePenguin
This figure suffered the same initial problem as Storm: The box was folding in half almost. Looking at the figure, it looked pretty cool. It was Wolverine with some wicked looking claws AND a gun AND nightvision goggles. Pretty neat. Got him open and I was confused. Why are his gloves different lengths? and different colors? Thinking about it, doesn't he have a little too much light blue and bright yellow to be stealthly? Another think amiss was his gun belt: he doesn't have one holding the holster up. The holster straps go up to his waist and just hang there with nothing to attach to. Also about that holster, it sucks. Why didn't they make the holster bigger or get rid of the scope on the gun so they wouldn't have to cut a slit the entire length? He is very poseable so I'll...[See More]

When was the last time you saw a perfectly symetrical soldier''s uniform?
That wierd blue glove is annoying though, I dont know what to do with it!

They seem to wear matching gloves at least. If the blue on is supposed to have some sort of device on it, fine, but make the base of the glove the same as the other.
Storm

My first impressions of this figure were not good. The package it was in was almost torn in half to start with. When I looked at the figure I saw another victim of over-washing. She may have had a white costume at one time, but the only part that was white on her anymore was her ridiculously huge hair. This figure was made to be repainted. All that aside, I really like the sculpt. The line of the fabric of her costume and on her boots are well done. It could have more hand poseablity, but what're you gonna do. Overall, bad paintjob makes for a figure you can't display right out of the box....[See More]

The thing is that the plastic used to make her is light-blue and the white paint is thin in some places so that makes some shading, but someone decided that they wanted to shade her even MORE and sprayed some more blue paint on her. I went to Target to see if they were all bad but I did see one that was mostly white with the right amount of shading.
These figures are like looking for diamonds in a mountain of coal
Storm
X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Now, I know many of you (apparently a TON of you) prefer Storm in her black full-body suit, and also in her skimpy one-piece black suit with the tiara or the mohawk version of her, and that's fine, but I'm telling you you're wrong! The classic white full-body suit was the greatest, is the greatest, and will forever continue to be the greatest Storm suit in existence! It is elegant and stylish, just like her long beautiful white hair, which she somehow always managed to keep perfectly snow-white, no matter how dirty the situation (just another one of those great comicbook mysteries, heh). I think I just managed to alienate 70% of the good folks reading this review, lol! I'm reviewing the Storm from the new 6-inch X-Men line since it is the only white-suited version of her. She is kinda...[See More]
Magneto
X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I haven't seen very many variations of Magneto's suits so I'm always interested whenever one pops up, like this one from the new 6-inch X-Men line. It's always nice to see what a character looks like in different outfits. Imagine Wolverine in a suit or Rogue in a bikini? Niiiiiice ;D I hope someone out there makes an "Age of Apocalypse" Magneto where he has the long white beard and more muscle. Magneto stands at 6 1/4 inches tall and wears a purple suit with metal trimmings. It's almost as if you can tell that whoever was designing this suit was watching an Avengers cartoon with Hawkeye in it. He even has the loincloth around his waist! He makes a great Hawkeye custom and you don't even have to paint anything, all you have to do is change the head! But you're not going to change his head...[See More]
