X-Men - X-Force Reviews
Sunspot X-Men - X-Force (Toy Biz) - Series 3 Rated 5.00 stars by necornaut I first read about this character sunspot in an late 80's early 90's issue of x-factor, it had cable, cannon ball, sunspot and they were rescuing some mutants from genosha. now enough of that lets get on with this figure, I had recently gotten him and I'm thinking this will be good for a new mutants or x-force, and it was. The figure itself is in good scale to the figures in the series and comes with 10 POA, I know what your thinking pfff only 10 points! but realize this that it was back in the 90's when this was made, and that was pretty good for back then, judging that the first cable release only had 7, or that sabretooth only had 4 not counting his mouth. So back to sunspot he is actually a really sweet figure, his look is close to the comics and he can stand up well with out help or...[See More]
Deadpool X-Men - X-Force (Toy Biz) - Series 6 Rated 5.00 stars by necornaut Another Deadpool, this figure I just got recently and I'm already loving it. I mainly collect the pre-legends so this figure was right up my alley. The figure itself is the second release of Deadpool, making various changes from the original including beefing up and more accessories with out the whole action feature. The figure itself is pretty massive in the muscle area like in the days of Ed McGuinness unlike the first released Rob Liefeld inspired figure, also he contains I think just one more point of articulation above the old one. I'll start out with the basics on this guy, first off his costume is great, I like the torn costume style because you can make him look like he's been in battle when put on display yet he's not so battle damaged that you can only display like that, also...[See More]
Cable X-Men - X-Force (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 3.50 stars by necornaut This is a figure that would have been nice but because of "action buttons" it was messed up. The figure itself is nice, fairly good paint for being pre-legends and has a good likeness to Cable except in my opinion his face is a little narrow, but that would be a REAL easy fix with a little sculpy just widen the jaw. but anyway back to the figure itself, the main flaw is the karate chop action button it's cool if your using him to smack Stryfe around but it just looks kinda weird like he's doing the robot dance and just left his arm hanging. The other arm is on this weird joint and it just doesn't move that well. Now don't get me wrong this Cable is okay not as good as the ones to follow but if your just collecting for the sake of collecting then this first Cable is a good starter. There...[See More]
Deadpool X-Men - X-Force (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by necornaut This Deadpool is great example of Toybiz in the early 90's with a really cool figure but with one minor flaw. The figure itself is the basic toybiz joint style and personally I really like the old school style of Deadpool, its by far one of the best styles, because well you just don't see it in this day and age not with all of the fancy new deadpools with their extremely sweet weapons... back to business this deadpool is really just a nice piece to add to your evil mutant/ mercenary/ or really sweet figure collection. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the flaw, the flaw is the spring out dagger, now don't get me wrong I love using the dagger to stab cable or the occasional x-personel, but it just kinda looks like a small sawblade type thing not really a menacing dagger, but hey it does make...[See More]
Black Tom X-Men - X-Force (Toy Biz) - Series 4 Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire Black Tom is a perfect example of how super heroes and villains should be made. This guy is a 100 percent perfect replica of the comic book villain.
Black Tom was bonded with a wood-like substance to save his life so he has the ability to make razor-wood claws and can shoot energy blasts from his hands. This guy shoots a red "energy blast" from his right hand. I like this because it has a small string wrapped around the end of it so you wont lose it when you shoot it, which is nice. His face is perfectly detailed, not too life-like, just like animated figures should be. His fancy mustache and beard are nicely sculpted too and he has one of the best hair styles I've seen!! His suit is a simple yet threatning white-red-black scheme.
The only downside I could pick at is that he cant...[See More]
Caliban X-Men - X-Force (Toy Biz) - Series 6 Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire Who the heck is Caliban?
That's what I said when I saw him. He's was supposed to be one of Apocalypse's four horsemen but he ran away and now aids the X-force team (according to the packaging). What made me buy him you say? Aside from being $2.50, he is massive!! He stands 5 1/4 inches which is a bit taller than most 5 inch figures...for obvious reasons...duh...
He has a great red-and-white color scheme which kind of looks like a skull and comes with a blue-green cloak thingy which doesnt look too good on him but that doesnt matter since Caliban is such a great figure. The package indicated that he had "Mutant Roaring Action" Holy moly!! If you squeeze his left leg, his powerful arms fly upward and his jaw opens. It is actually quite impressive since Caliban is so insanely muscular...[See More]
