Shazam (Super Powers) Review
Shazam Super Powers (Kenner)Whatever name you want to call him -- Shazam! or Captain Marvel-- this figure is AWESOME regardless! Actually, I would have bought this had I had the money and found it in a toy aisle! I always called him Shazam! I thought probably the same way about this character now as I did back then -- a generic Superman! I vaguely remember his cartoon, but I still think he is a cool character, despite his close imitation of Superman. I remember he had a spot on the Nabisco Super Heroes cookie box from 1982. Despite being a tough figure to find carded, he is more expensive to find carded or loose/complete than Superman! I bought my first Shazam! C-9 loose/complete figure for around $56.00 in 2001 from Planet Force. I sold it in 2003, and bought it back in 2005 for around $132.00. I also had to sell it, too. Again, in 2006, I bought a third loose/complete figure for around $68.00. I recently bought a C-8 U.S. carded version for $93.99! A C-8/9 loose/complete Shazam! will run between $55.00 to $70.00 nowadays. A C-8/9 U.S. carded will run between $93.00 to $165.00, while the Canadian carded version runs between $100.00 to $200.00. Like it or not, this Superman wannabe's figure is more valuable than Superman!
