He-Man He-Man - 2002 Series (Mattel)When I was a little man (lol), I always prayed to GOD that He-man should be brought back into this world. When after 10 years of praying GOD finally listened to me, he played a little trick on me. The cartoon that was released had the same 5 sound effects for every action the cartoon figures did (Mortal Kombat - Scorpion's spear attack sound). The characters had a metamorphose but looked okay. He-man looked okay and Prince Adam was smaller in the cartoon then him. But when the toy came out....... man o man o man. I did buy He-man. And I bought him 6 times. (to make a Faker, Wundar, King Randor, Count Marzo and a Spikor... yeah I know, I'll post them one day). But why o why? Why was He-man looking starved and skinny. Why was he standing with his neck bend and his head looking like he's saying "you talkin to me?" His ax was to big. His sword was a puzzle that just didn't work. He should be much bulkier. His shoulders, chest, arms and wrists should shine strength out of them. They don't. He looks like a wimp. Like a, ...hmmm, Prince Namor - Sub Marine posture. Not even like a Batman posture. Catch my drift? This while he should have a Hercules or a Thor body. Actually the far most best thing about this figure is, that he is He-man. There are a lot of things I would have done different for the cartoon and for the toy line. The worst thing was the unending different variants of he-man and skeletor. They actually made a man-at-arms variant, a stratos variant, and many re-paints. Who would need a battlecat variant for the sake of love? Instead of this, they could have introduced more of the vintage figures into the 2002 line. Don't get me wrong, the stactions looked awesome. But come on, no articulation what so ever. Clawfull was the only figure in the right scale next to stinkor I guess. Also the story line should have been altered a little bit. Also, Skeletor's henchmen should have gone to school. It was at least much better then the New Adventures He-man figure. That was a crisis beyond recognition. I still am happy that he-man came back as a cartoon and as a toy line. Made me feel all nostalgic and stuff. I bought a Man-at-arms and a He-man for my 10 year old nephew back then. He liked it a lot. So the legend lives on.
