Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro)At first glance it is everything one would want in a origin set of figures, big flat headed Hulk and a big white winged Thor instead of the metallic look to the wings. The Hulk is the biggest figure. The Thor figure is nicely colored but has a paint defect on some of the faces, not easily noticed but some have a pale discoloration. The Ant Man with this set is much smaller than Wasp so he's more in scale with the ant. The ant is not in scale but much larger than if in scale with the 3.75" figures so I don't understand the point of not making Pym larger and the ant a little larger. The reason I think is to have a different scale than has been released so one can have a growing effect when placing several of the figures together. Also why not add several ants? This had been done in other releases, the 5" Avengers set comes to mind. The Wasp figure is a new release is painted to the original colors. It is not exactly the original costume but is close. The problem is that with other releases of this figure, the face is not painted completely thus leaving a look of a lifeless doll or tiny manikin. Many of us have painted eyes and a mouth to make her look more real. The biggest pet peeve of mine is the gold Iron Man Armor. It has a new neck sculpt to add an antennae, which is nice. It is a re-release of the grey armor but painted with a more yellow gold. The big issue for me is the no kilt or skirt on the gold figure. This is the Mark I Model III Armor and should have a kilt that was started in the grey Armor when Tony escaped captivity and refined the grey Armor, which was released as a shiny metallic dark grey with the antennae. It would show a progression rather than just be a repaint. The 5" Toy Biz figure from the box set had a kilt as that is what the gold armor is known for. So while it is nice and fills some gaps, it seems they got lazy and didn't make them exactly the original figures.    by Irn12 |
