Gimli (Helm's Deep) (Australia) (Lord of the Rings - Two Towers) Review
Gimli (Helm's Deep) (Australia)
Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz)I want to review this figure in 2 ways: 1 about the figure in its rarity and 2 an overall review if the figure itself for people just wanting a Gimli figure review.

So to begin with this is an Australia exclusive carded figure if Gimli that only a limited amount were made and became extremely rare and got for around £200-£500 online. It’s finny that packaging saying ‘Helms Deep Gimli’ is worth that but that’s the world we live in. If you do find one of these somehow DO NOT OPEN IT. Sell it online and find a Gimli in a 2 pack or multipack boxset gift box set of figures if you need a loose one.

Moving onto the figure itself it’s just a Gimli figure. He has 2 throwing axes, a double headed axe, a walking axe and helmet as accessories but no cloak despite him clearly wearing one from lothlorien onwards. So really this could be a Moria Gimli as he doesn’t have the cloak yet but has the double headed axe he picks up after the troll smashes Balin’s Tomb. I found the exact moment: he falls off and it’s next to him and from that point on he uses that axe as his primary weapon, so unless he had bill the pony carry it and it was absent from screen until this moment it’s must be this case, have a look out next time you watch Fellowship! Overall it’s just a Gimli figure which is: swivel head, hinged rotating shoulders with a swivel at the upper arms and wrists and one leg can move forward but the other would break the axe throwing feature whereby you place one of the throwing axes into his hand and he can raise his arm by squeezing his legs and throw it by releasing them. Gimli figures aren’t the best all 3 versions have their issues the best thing to do would be take the coronation Gimli’s arms and legs and transfer them onto this Gimli ( have a look at my Fellowship custom for that or Gloin) along with some extra pouches for his 3 axes he carries on his hips (2 throwing and 1 short axe ) as well as add one to his back for his double axe to slot in.

To conclude this figure is a collectors item being rare and expensive but not a massive issue missing out if you just want a complete set of characters not just every single carsback or to brag you have one. The actual figure itself is fine but suffers from a lack of articulation and not a great paintjob oh and Gimli doeant have blue eyes like every figure does of him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
