Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th Part 3) One:12 Collective (Mezco)Friday the 13th is one of the most well-known slasher/horror franchises, and I assume it will be one you first watch when getting into the genre. I haven’t seen anything beyond the fifth one yet, but for now, the third and fourth movies are my favorites. And we should all know Mezco by now thanks to their One:12 Collective line. They’ve done Friday the 13th before years ago as part of their “Cinema of Fear” line, but they’ve since done him again in their One:12 line, based off his appearance from Part 3, the most recognizable film in the franchise. While he was released a few years ago, he shouldn’t be too hard to find through online retailers. The packaging is pretty simple, with the logo and a dark forest background on the front, and photos of everything included on the back. That’s a slip cover, however, and when you remove it, you got a window box with a clear view of the figure. Everything is easy to remove and replace. No twist ties, no tape, just plastic trays and covers. It’s all one big, collector-friendly box. Jason, of course, is wearing his iconic hockey mask, which he first wore in the film this figure came from (he wore a bag on his head in Part 2), but that can be removed to reveal his disfigured face and head underneath, and it definitely looks screen-accurate. There’s an extra head and mask as well with a big nasty cut on his forehead, coming from the film’s climax, with blood pouring out of the wound and an angrier expression (hey, you’d be pissed off too if someone gave you an axe to the head). Most of the figure is covered by a tailored shirt, overcoat (which is non-removeable, in case you’re wondering), and pants, and they look great on the figure. We have some nice details to the hands and boots, and while not really painted, they have some nice wash to them to bring out some realism. As the line suggests, this figure stands in a 1:12/6” scale, but Jason here is 6 ½”, which while taller, should still fit in well with other figures in this scale. The articulation on this figure is impressive, and none of it is hindered by the outfit. The ball-jointed head works great with plenty of tilt, and the heads swap easily as well. The arms are outfitted with swivel/hinge shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, and swivel/hinge/swivel wrists, allowing for plenty of poses with them. The ball-jointed chest and waist work great, and the legs have swivel/hinge hips, swivels at the thighs and boots, double-hinged knees, and ball-jointed ankles, which also allow for plenty of poses, especially with the great tilt on the ankles. As a slasher villain, Jason needs some weaponry, and Mezco has given him plenty to work with. Aside from the extra head and mask, Jason has four extra hands to go with the gripping hands he comes with. There’s a pair of grasping hands, and two right hands, one more relaxed, and one gun grip, and all of them swap easily. As for his tools of the trade, he has a pitchfork, a spear gun a machete, knife, cleaver, axe, fire poker, and wrench. He can hold all of them in his hands, with the spear gun going in his extra right hand, and yes, the axe does fit in the alternate head’s wound. Also included is a big round base with poster art, and it has a single foot peg that you can swap out for a posing arm. Finally, Mezco included a Ziploc bag to hold all of his accessories in case you don’t want to keep him inside the box. While there’s been plenty of Jason figures over the years, this one may just be one of the best we’ve gotten. The sculpt and details look great, and there’s plenty of display options here thanks to the articulation and accessories included. Jason here is my first One:12 figure, but he definitely won’t be my only one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
