Muckman & Joe Eyeball Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Super7) (Super7)Man, I’m just getting these S7 Turtles like crazy, huh? I’ve gotten almost everyone they made so far, with only three left to get for now. One of my recent grabs from the line is Muckman, and to be honest, when they first revealed wave four, I wasn’t too into him (tentacle beard creeped me out), but following all the praise he’s gotten, I knew I had to get him. Good thing Third Eye gets in Super7 regularly. The box is same as usual, but it’s a bit larger this time around, mainly due to Muckman’s size. And lord almighty, he is a big guy, standing around 7 ½” tall. As far as I’m concerned, he’s not quite as tall as Bebop and Rocksteady, but he’s still a rather bulky figure. Muckman’s covered in all sorts of junk, bugs, worms, bones, and slime, but so was the original figure. Here, however, it’s all fully painted, so you can make out what’s there. Four Horsemen is responsible for the sculpt here, and there’s a lot of detail in the sculpt. Let’s face it, for its time, the original Muckman figure looked great, and it still does, but years later, that won’t quite cut it with the modern collector. As I mentioned before, the paint is really nice, with little bleed and plenty of colors. And by the way, the top of his head comes off, much like the old figure, so you can pour slime in there and watch it come out his mouth, not that I’m ever going to try that, though. The articulation follows the same path as the rest of the line, and it’s a good number of joints. The ball-jointed head as a good amount of tilt, but the head’s design restricts motion a bit. The swivel/hinge joints on the shoulders, elbows, and wrists allow for plenty of arm poses, but it’s worth noting that due the asymmetrical design of them, the right wrist joint is on the hand, and the left joint is on the forearm. The legs follow a similar path, with swivel/hinge joints on the hips, knees, and ankles, and there’s swivels at the waist, thighs, and calves. The leg joints can be a little loose, especially around the hips, so that can get in the way. All in all, there’s plenty of ways to pose him. The area Muckman is mainly light on is accessories, but the original figure didn’t have a lot either. There are two sets of hands, one gripping, and one covered in slime. They swap easily, but I wish the slime on the extra hands were painted a different color, and that we got an extra set of closed hands/fists. His “Muck Gun” is included here, and it looks nice, with painted bugs and slime, but the dull gray color isn’t doing it for me. The trashcan backpack also returns, and just like the old figure, you can plug it into the back, and you can pour slime into it and watch it seep out his stomach. Finally, his friend Joe Eyeball is here, and he looks great. Standing around 3 ¾” tall, the sculpt and paint are nice, and he has articulation at the head and shoulders as well. When comparing this figure to NECA’s version that was released a few months before him, I will say the NECA figure has more playability, with nicer joints and some neat accessories, but Super7 wins the appearance department here. The sculpt and paint look great, and he should in well with either line. While I wish the leg joints were tighter and he had an extra set of hands, he’s still a great figure, and arguably my new favorite from the line. If Super7 ever considers doing a glow in the dark version like with Baxter and Mutagen Man, I may cave in and get it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
