Punisher Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) (Toy Biz)Finally a non-statue, non-ugly, non-elusive, non-variant, non-expensive Punisher figure we can all afford! Frank stands at a solid 6 1/4". Now, I've had the chance to measure a few other Punishers in stores and they were only very slightly over 6 inches, so I think my Punisher is just stretched out a little, a factory mistake maybe? Doesn't matter, all for the better. He wears his iconic white/black suit. White gloves, boots with dark-grey soles, belt and chest-skull over a dark suit. The detail on him is just amazing, from the pockets and clothes-folds to the well-made pouches and silver buckles on his boots. The skull is engraved at the edges and looks great. Both of his hands are sculpted with the index finger sticking out a little so he can hold weapons properly at the trigger, though I think if he had articulated trigger fingers that would have enhanced him a bit more. The face sculpt is just perfect. One look at the scars and stubble and you know it's Punisher because no one else has that same gritty "if you touch my donut I?m going to dunk you out the window" look. He has raven-black slicked-back hair and a blue-eyed icy glare that can freeze you in your tracks if you happen to make direct eye contact with him while walking down the hall. I like how Punisher looks like he's actually wearing clothes and not just tights. You can tell he is wearing pants and a shirt by the subtle wrinkles here and there. The muscle sculpting on him is just right. It isn't exaggerated yet you can still tell he is very muscular. What does bother me though are the muscles at the base of his neck. They are unnecessary and make him look like he's hulking over. He would look much better without them but that's up to you to decide... As I've seen in almost every single Marvel Legends review, I must detail all the wonderful articulation or else I will be made to walk the plank. I looked around to see the names of all the fancy articulation names so you'll know what the hell I'm talking about. Punisher's head is connected to his neck with a ball-joint while his neck is connected to his body with a swivel joint. I've seen people complain that he looks like he's looking down all the time but I don't see what they mean. My Punisher can look anyway he wants, theirs must just need to loosen up a little more. Granted though, it is a little hard to get his head to tilt up without feeling like you're going to pop his head off. His shoulders have a full range of movement, arms can swivel just under the shoulder joints, double-hinged elbows, hands swivel at the glove-lines, wrists are hinged, fingers are hinged where they meet the palm, swivels at the waist, swivels at the hips, hinged outward just under the hips so his legs can still move anyway you want, swivels at mid-thighs, double-hinged knees, swivels at boot-lines (don't you just love that word, swivel? xD), hinged and rocking ankles (fun joint names aren't they?), and hinged at the boot-toes. All these add up to 37 points of articulation, by my count anyway. Punisher comes with a large section of a wall-mountable dilapidated brickwall, with a boarded-up window, to which you can attach a fully-collapsible, damaged, fire escape balcony of sorts. It has 2 pegs on it so he can stand on it securely. For someone who is supposed to be armed to the teeth, Punisher's only weapons accessories are a basic pistol and an auto assault rifle. The pistol looks puny in his fist but the rifle looks decent. They didn't even give Punisher a knife or a bow or a stick with a rusty nail through it, nothing! He does come with a small section of sidewalk (or a ledge, it's hard to tell what it is) with 2 pegs and littered with perfectly-scaled, but unusable weapons because they are molded right onto the cement. Why would they tease us like that? If you don't want to hang the wall-section on your own wall then you can clip this little sidewalk to the bottom of the brickwall and display it on a desk or shelf in your secret base somewhere. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
