Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Super7) (Super7)What are the odds that the fifth and sixth waves of TMNT Ultimates would drop around the same time? Eh, the fifth wave was long overdue anyways, which also means this guy was overdue.

Krang, the evil brain from Dimension X, was one of the main villains in the original cartoon and toyline, so why it took five waves for Super7 to do him is beyond me. The brain here is about 1 3/4" tall, and 1 1/2" long and wide, a good deal bigger than I thought he would be. He's clearly an updated version of the old toy, with modernized details and very clean paint. Since Super7 likes to do alternate heads with a lot of their Ultimates, a second Krang is included here, with a wide-open mouth and waving tentacles, and it's definitely a nice inclusion. His tentacles are swivel/hinge joints, and can be swapped between the two brains.

Krang can't do all that much as just a brain, which is why he has a "mobile life-support system." Standing around 5 1/2" tall, the walker looks to be just a scaled-up version of the original, albeit with more paint. Said paint is pretty clean, and I like the metallic shine, though I wish it was closer to the dull bluish-gray of the original. Krang just rests inside of the walker, with nothing to keep him securely in it, and the dome flips open so he can be placed inside.

Because of its design, the walker moves a little differently from your regular Ultimate. The shoulders are ball-socket joints where the arms plug into the walker, and there are also hinged elbows that go in and out inside of up and down, and swivel/hinge wrists. The hips and ankles are also swivel/hinge joints, with the ankles turning at the forefoot instead of the whole foot, and the knees are hinged, with a mid-leg swivel right below them. There's some looseness to the leg joints, so finding that center of balance is crucial to good posing.

In terms of accessories, the original Krang had a "brain-sucker gun" and a hose to plug it into the walker, and both of those are kept here. It's not hard to plug the hose into both the gun and the walker, and some nice poses can be managed with the weapon. The walker also gets interchangeable hands, including a pair of gripping hands, a pair of open hands, a pointing right, and a closed left. They swap easily, though a closed right hand would've been nice. Lastly, there's a tripod stand, something I believe is carried over from the cartoon, and it works with displaying one of the Krangs while the other is in the walker.

Krang is definitely a figure I'm happy to finally have in hand, thanks to the great detail and nice blending of articulation with sculpt, and the extra Krang brain is a nice touch. My only complaints are the lack of stability in the legs and changed colors of the walker, but he's fun regardless. If Super7 ever buckles down and does Krang's android body, I'd throw however much money they want for it at them.
