Barnyard Commandos (Premium DNA) (Premium DNA)Well, here he is, the last figure in Premium DNA's first wave of Barnyard Commandos, and quite possibly the best one.

Corporal Hy Ondahog stands out from the others in the wave as he's the only one to come from Playmates' original second wave, meaning DNA is willing to mix things up a bit. Hy shows the horrors of the war with an eyepatch over his left eye, and I assume it got taken out by a chicken arrow. The expression is nice, being more disgruntled than angry, and isn't too much different from the original. Just like the other pig in this wave, Side O'Bacon, he's wearing a nose ring, displaying his toughness. The head is mostly smooth, save for a couple wrinkles.

Standing 5" tall, Hy is appropriately fat for a pig, and he is pretty chunky, but he's not hefty like Side O'Bacon is. The sculpt all around looks nice, thanks to Brodie Perkins, and he gets a set of abs now, rather than man boobs. His paint is mostly clean save for some marks and fuzziness, and the pattern is different from the original. Like the others, he moves at the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, hocks, and ankles, and he moves the best out of the four. Nothing too tight or wants to pop off, but his thighs don't move, though they aren't needed anyways.

Hy's base weapon is a "ham-held 1-10G" rocket launcher, more realistic and colorful than before. The weapon plugs onto his hands/hooves, and all four of the rockets are removable. It's pretty heavy, though, and can weigh him down and affect his balance. If you don't want to deal with that problem, you can pop off the grips on the side and plug the launcher onto an axle and tire to make it a free-standing weapon. The tire is big and solid, and everything plugs in easily. The sprocket on the back of the launcher can be replaced with a satellite readout, and it's lenticular as well, making it a neat add-on. In addition, Hy gets a shish-kabob bayonet, with vegetation on it, and a extra set of hooves designed to hold it.

Hy overall is the best figure in the first wave, thanks to his great quality and fun weapon. If you've read the article on the Commandos in Toycollectr, you'd already know the line-up for next wave, but now the question is when they'll be going up for pre-order, and what's next for the line.
