Write a Review link for that item. Transformers - Legacy - Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection (Hasbro)Fittingly, the packaging on mine was damaged. I love the recent trend of in-house crossovers. Between this, Bug Bite and those M.A.S.K. vehicles they snuck into the Micromasters, it's a nice low-key sprinkling of fun that I don't have to go all-in on a series for. Anyhoo, Crasher snuck into the Bayverse toyline as a Walmart exclusive, a redeco of Mirage. This update takes the same route, but comes out a lot better. The altmode is fairly nice, sporting clean lines and a smattering of fine detail. No obvious kibble. The guns blend in well, plugging into the predominantly black central section. A misaligned paint app leaves the 01 on the hood a bit crooked, but it kind of fits the character. Transformation is of average complexity, with a few fun twists and some seriously finicky leg armor. Robot mode is, well, Mirage in black and white. With a pink face, because girl. To their credit, Tonka did give her the "fearsome, cackling terror with a zest for murder" slot in the villain lineup, and she was far from the only female in the main cast (suck on that, TF). Articulation is on the high end of average, in that the ankles have a really good range of forward-back motion in addition to the usual tilt, the waist is unencumbered, and she's largely kibble-free. My only complaint here is one loose hinge; the heel falls off every time I transform her. Accessories are also slightly above average: the rifle has a classic look, and the rocket is removable from the launcher- which can then accommodate multi-part blast effects, allowing for a pretty good action pose. Yeah, this is another winner. More female presence, a fun crossover, and cool display options add up to a pretty nice piece. Shame about the QC, but your mileage may vary.   by Karl T. Face |
