Fei Long Street Fighter (Jada Toys) (Jada Toys)I may be sounding like a broken record, but Jada's Street Fighter figures are great, thanks to top-notch quality and articulation for a price not too far off from the work of big wigs like Hasbro and McFarlane. I was able to acquire two more through Target recently, and they’re the last ones for now until Jada gets to work on putting more up for pre-order. I'll start with Fei Long, since he came first alongside Ryu. He's basically the Bruce Lee of the SF universe, most notably in the face. He bears an intense glare similar to the late martial arts legend, and a somewhat similar hairstyle as well. It looks like face printing was done for the head, as the eyes are rather clean, but the eyebrows could be a little nicer. As with the others, he gets an alternate head, with teeth showing a bit and less angry eyebrows. Both look great, and have a nice paint finish as well. At 6 1/4" tall, Fei is one of the few fighters in-game to go topless. He's also muscular, but not as bulky as Ryu. His body is detailed well, with plenty of muscles and veins, and it's brought out by painted wash. His pants have a somewhat baggy look to them, and have a good texture as well. The paint on the feet and calves isn't entirely clean, but for a sorta-mass-market figure at this price point, it's acceptable. Next we have Ken, the most recent figure in the line, and he notably shares a good chunk of tooling with Ryu. The heads are the main difference, as Ken has a more confident, rather cocky expression to him, fitting his personality. He has an angry head as well, both look spot-on to the character, along with clean paint. The outfit is also sculpted differently, with no ripped edges for the gi and pants, and no kanji on the belt. Other than that, the underlying body, arms, and most of the legs are all reused from Ryu, but it makes sense, since Ken is supposed to be a shotoclone of him. Ken stands 6" tall, and has great paint and wash all over, notably being less tan than Ryu. Both Ken and Fei have the same articulation, shared between not just each other, but also Ryu. They get a barbell head, ball-jointed neck, chest, waist, and hips, swivel/hinge shoulders, wrists, and ankles, swivel biceps, thighs, and shins, double-hinged elbows and knees, and pectoral hinges. The joints work great, and you can swap parts with ease, but there will still be some tightness here and there. The joint tightness is most problematic in the ankles, which may require heat the first time around to get moving on the peg. I'd recommend finding some dynamic stands for these figures, so you can pose them doing all their attacks. Like the others, Ken and Fei each get two heads, two sets of hands, and effect pieces. Ken has a hadoken, recycled from Ryu, albeit colored red, and it's just now that I'm noticing the hands sculpted inside. Also coming with him are a posable stand for the hadoken, and an alternate pair of hands to go with it. Fei's alternate hands are designed to go with plenty of martial arts poses, and his effect piece is a big flame to recreate his shienkyaku special. The flame is a rubbery material, and slides onto either leg with ease. Again, you'll want a good dynamic stand, so you can pull off some cool poses with it. If I could only get one of these, I'd get Ken since I'm more familiar with him, but Fei Long is pretty fun as well, thanks to him benefitting from the same high quality and articulation the others do. Jada has plenty in store for this line, and hopefully they branch outside of SFII someday, so they can cover all the unique fighters. - 3/8/24 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
