Astrotrain Transformers - Classics (Hasbro)Astrotrain is another classic Transformers that has not had a modern incarnation until now. The original Astrotrain changed from Locomotive to Space shuttle to robot. The modern version contains all three modes only with a modern upgrade. Vehicle Mode: Astrotrain is a triple changer thus featuring 3 modes of conversion. His space shuttle mode is based off of today?s modern shuttles. The shuttle has working landing gear and a storage peg underneath for the rifle. The train mode has upgraded from classic locomotive to a modern day bullet train. The train has a peg for inserting the gun and has working train wheels for the realistic look. The back end of the train is kinda bulky but is understandable since this figure needs to have pieces for all modes of conversion. Robot Mode: Converting to bot mode is a very simple process and should not be too hard to do. The package says that this fig is for 5+ but I think that a 7 yr old work be more comfortable with this toy. AT comes with a remolded rifle that is almost identical to the original one he carried. At stands 6" tall and has 17 POA. The bot mode looks beautiful but the reason this fig got a 4 instead of a 5 was due to his hand covers. ATs hands are covered by the bullet trains front section. Each half needs pulled away to reveal the hands, but the covers slip back over the hands and do not stay in place. Other than the mentioned problems this figure is a dead on sculpt to the original character that showed up in the G1 toon. Package: Heres Astrotrain?s backstory and data: <img class="rightfloat" src="http://www.figurerealm.com/Galleries/transformersclassics/Astrotrain-Train1.jpg"> Astrotrain Decepticon Psy-Ops Warrior Strength - 9 Intelligence - 7 Speed - 9 Endurance - 8 Rank - 6 Courage - 6 Fireblast - 7 Skill - 5 "The enemy's weakness is his uncertainty." Astrotrain thrives on panic and fear. Though he is mainly used as a transport vehicle for moving warriors and supplies, he only feels truly at home pounding Autobot warriors into scrap metal. His ionic displacer rifle can scramble Autobot sensors, causing confusion in the enemy ranks, and his huge bulk casts a terrifying shadow across the battlefield. Those Autobots who survive a fight with Astrotrain often need only hear the echoing boom of his engines in the distance to once again quake in fear. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
