Al Simmons (Spawn - Movie) Review
Al Simmons
Spawn - Movie (McFarlane)Ahh has anyone NOT heard of the classic Spawn line? I’m guessing its very few people that can be put in that category. However, many people, myself at one point, wouldn’t have the slightest clue who Spawn was before well, he was Spawn. The man I’m speaking of, the one destined to become Spawn is Al Simmons, government assassin, murdered by his comrades and sent to Hell.

Our good buddy Al stand bout 6 inches tall. He comes with two accessories, well technically three. The first is a machine gun type weapon. To me, it looks like something a future Punisher might use in battle. he also comes with a tripod backpack. Its a tripod pack because its also a missile launcher. The pack can either stand on its on via three small legs or it can hook into Simmons back by sticking two hooks in the pack into to notches in Simmons back. The launcher is one of the those pulley deals, you stick the rocket in, pull it down against a spring and let go.

Simmons paint job is pretty wicked. He's dressed in his special forces uniform featuring a black suit, brown/grey boots and dark blue knee/shoulder pads, pouches and tactical vest, none of which is removable. The gun and pack are a silver color with the rocket being black. One thing that annoys me that happened to my figure, the paint for the gloves dripped into the wrist joint so I had to mess with it to get the paint out to pop the hand back into place, apparently they weren’t being to careful...

Articulation is pretty much the standard for 6 inch figures. He’s got articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, thighs and knees, enough so that he’s quite moveable.

He’s good for any collector and anyone that needs a commando style figure. I have to take points of for a few reasons though. One the paint job that’s to careless: they weren’t paying attention or didn’t care enough so now I have paint in the joints I have to clean out. The second part is the face, its ugly. He looks like he’s been punched in the face a bit to many times or he’s really high, he’s got a broken face loopy look. Anyhow, besides those two things he’s a good figure.
