Write a Review link for that item. DC Super Heroes (Mattel) (Mattel)You've got to keep the kids happy, and by "kids" I mean the large hairy men who buy action figures, so DC said "YES! YE MEN SHALL HAVETH THINE WISHES!" And so they bequeathed upon us these multi-articulated DC Super Heroes figures! Supes stands 6 1/4 inches (and a little taller if you count his hair) so he's actually in-scale with the Marvel Legends figures! The body's muscle is lean and moderated for the most part, not over-hulking like previous Superman figures. The chest-symbol is crisply painted but the paint-job on the yellow belt is a little crude. As always, paint-quality will vary so check before you buy. The blue parts are blue plastic to start with so you don't have to worry about paint chipping, the red parts look painted but they have the same tough-to-damage look about them. The face...it looks like Superman but it kinda doesn't too. Maybe they were aiming at an animated version of Christopher Reeves? Whatever but it looks okay, I just think the skin-tone is a shade too dark. The hands are both in fists, deadly fists of staticness. The hair definitely looks brown, Superman's hair is supposed to be black! And the thick blue "highlights" on the brown are ugly (you should repaint the hair ASAP!). The eyebrows make him look like he's frowning. The light-blue eyes are nicely-painted but a darker blue would have been best. The cape is flexible and looks okay but they have to figure out a way to make capes lighter and even more flexible (for posing stability), something like the Huntress from the Hush line. The articulation is enough to put Superman in good poses. The mid-section, elbows, knees, ankles, and hips are hinged. The shoulders are socket-swivel-hinged, the arms are socket-swivels, the waist, legs, and hips are also swiveled. The head is on a ball-socket joint. Superman is packaged along with a weird breaking-chain paper "backdrop" and a Doomsday/Superman comic. If you have a Marvel flight-base, go ahead and drill a hole in Superman's back and stick it in there, he looks great :)   by Henchmen4Hire |
