Transformers - Beast Wars (Hasbro)Today we are looking at a figure from the TRANSFORMERS BEAST WARS line.Though he is listed on FIGURE REALM as a TRANSMETAL,QUICKSTRIKE is actually a FUZOR,one of HASBRO's more original ideas.The basic premise for these was to take two animals and give one creature the best(and worst)features of both.This lead to some varying results;QUICKSTRIKE here,from the PREDACON family,being one of the best.

We'll start with the beast mode.Using a mix of teal,orange,and brown;this figure uses these to great aplomb,never seeming gaudy or G2-ish.His beast mode is a complementary mix of scorpion and cobra.In this mode,QUICKSTRIKE has several articulaion points and action features.The main body has pincers that can reach upwards and grasp small objects(a MAXIMAL leg perhaps),and then the tail is mulitsegmented ball joints all the way up to the cobra head......yes,you read that right instead of a stinger they gave him a cobra which has an articulaed mouth and water sac that can filled and shot thru his mouth.

QUICKSTRIKE'S bot mode is meant to evoke a viscious cattle rustler.His tail becomes his right arm,and doubles as a whip/cannon.The left arm is comprised of his beast mode legs giving him pincers in this mode as well.The bot head has very fearsome look with a scowl and and gas mask look to him.Great articulation abounds in this mode,giving him such that it almost rivals TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE's LANDMINE.

Now the pricing...luckily even on the secondary market QUICKSTRIKE hasn't reached mythis preportions in terms of price.In retail,being a basic,he went for 5.99.Now the secondary market sees him from retail to around $20,though you can get the japanese version in a 2-pack with TRANSMETAL AIRRAZOR.

Overall,I give this figure a 5.There isn't anything I can really complain about this figure over.He has great playability,visually appealing,inexpensive,and is actually pretty well in scale with the rest of the BEAST WARS line.
