Legendary Comic Book Heroes (Marvel Toys)(Conan the Barbarian) Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet. This passage from The Phoenix on the Sword, one of the earliest stories starring Conan the Barbarian, by Robert E. Howard decribes his creation to the letter with great emotion and power! Conan comes forth from the mist of time, immortilized in a plastic action figure for all to marvel at! Highly detailed with no item left out, Conan comes equipped with a massive sword and battle. Unfortunately, the knife can not be removed from its sheath, taking away what could have been a very cool weapon. The sword is almost as tall as Conan himself, the same going for the battleaxe, not counting the chain of course. Draped over his back is a bear skin cloak which can be removed but would leave two holes in Conan's sinuwe neck. His hair is semi-riged plastic that only minorly inhibits head movement with its lenght. His face is true to character, full of meloncholie and might that does not betray the heart of a scholar and jokster beanth it. That was one of the key elements that is lacking in most comic adaptations of Conan the Barbarian. The sword can be stowed in a long scabered that hangs far from his body because of its design requirments and won't go in all the way without a tiny bit of force. When left alone in one hand, the axe tends to gradually sag noticiably in the area of least support. The body itself feautres a good level of articulation, typical of the Marvel Legends line and Legendary Comicbook Heroes line as well, enabling a number of poses. Over all, Conan the Barbarian gets four and a half stars out of five!   by Collector1 |
